Dogs come into heat starting any where from 5 months on. Then every 6 months or so. The best thing you can do for your pet is to get her spayed. Spaying your dog will help prevent unwanted puppies and future health problems later on.

3-13 days. However, are you sure this is you dog's period. My dog seemed to have it then we called our vet and she told us my dog was actually pregnant. I advise calling you vet just incase. Otherwise, it'll just be a few days.

This is known as an "Estrus Cycle" (only humans and great apes have menstrual cycles) and it may last 4-13 days. This will also occur about twice a year. If you don't want to deal with this spay your dog.
