Beauty Pageant

Question Posted Thursday January 19 2006, 12:18 pm

Okay, well I'm not that good of a singer, and I know that. But, I have a beauty pageant coming up, and you have to have a talent, and singing is all I can come up with. I can also tumble pretty well, so idk if I should do that or not. I have a round-off back-handspring, standing back-handspring, round-off back-handspring series, and standing back-handspring series.
So I have 3 questions:
-Should I sing, or should I tumble?
-If I choose to sing, what are some tips to help an amature?

and BTW, the talent has to be 2:30 seconds long.

Thank you so much if you can help!

You should tumble, tumbling is more impressive than singing, as sad as that is. Read my column for singing tips, they're posted there.

If you can't sing then don't sing. I think you have something very good with the gymnastics. Make up a floor routine showing all you cn do- even cartwheels and such if you need to take up more time.

If you're a good tumbler, stick with that, just to be safe. Here's the way I see it.

If you choose tumbling, you can just come up with a routine of some kind.

If you sing, you have to learn a song, and if you haven't been taking voice lessons or you haven't been in a choir, you probably don't know too much about singing. I'm a singer, and singing isn't the easiest thing to do and it's hard to learn in a few weeks. Amateurs should refrain from performing until they've learned a lot about singing and musical theory. If you have a friend that's an experienced singer, you can ask her to help you (if you choose to sing).

You should let your greatest talents shine. Don't sing if you don't have to confidence to.

I hope I helped, and if you have any more questions, feel free to leave one in my inbox!

EDITED ANSWER: okay good choice. good luck!

Oh wow lol. I think you should definately tumble. My reason is because probably a lot of the girls are going to sing but I dont think a whole lot of people would tumble. Plus in my opinion its way more interesting to watch.

wow! thatd be some show, id say go with the tumbling, to make it last longer you could do each tumble seperatly with a little dancing in between and finish up with a grande finale of all your moves in rapid sucssession.good luck! let me know if you win.

You sound more conifednet with your tumbling. And plus i dont think many people would be doing tumbling and people think of singing quickly you want to do something not many people would do at the pageant.

So i would tumble

Mk thankx i would love too know
good luck

You seem to be more confident with the tumbling, so do that, def. Not only does it sound like you have it down pretty well, but by the tone of this post, it seems like YOU think you can tumble better than sing, which means you'll have most confidence tumbling. Tumble your heart out girl!!! :D

Well if you can't really sing, then don't. If you sing a song off key it is just painful to listen to. I'd rather see an ok tumbler than an ok singer.

And besides, most people can sing ok, but few people can actually tumble - that's talent.
