Question Posted Thursday December 1 2005, 12:45 pm

So I am 15 years old and I am 5'3 I currently weigh 215 lbs. I would really like to be about 140 by the first of June ( you know summer time )
I work out maybe twice a week for about an hour at a time. I don't drink and pop at all and I replace school lunch with a salad. Is there anyway possible to loose 60-75 lbs in 6 months? I would even be satisfied with 50. I really want this. I work alot and don't have alot of time for working out for such. And I have alot of dairy in my regular diet. I rate 5's!! please I would really appresheate all your help.

ok let me help you out on this one...last year I was around 5'2'' and I weighed roughly 150. In three months, I played basketball, cut out junk food and pop (it's good you don't drink that), and ate less. After these three months I lost 30 pounds. To this day I run a lot and play tons of basketball. Eat better and exercise and you will lose weight. Today I am about 5'6'' and 120 pounds. If I can do it I'm sure you can!

when you have salad dont use any dressing, its super fattening. you need to work out evrey single day if your trying to loose weight. you need to do alot of cardio and work out hard. & you should talk to your doctor about a weight loss program. you sound very overweight for your hieght :/

endurance work outs, if you have a Y near you or something, go and ask for a trainer or some work outs that help you one your endurance, which get you in shape. After you can work out you can just do a mile to finish it up.

cutt off all junkfood for a long time till you loose weight, dont eat at school either, ya i know ull get hungry but you wanna loose weight right? to make things more fun find a friend you have thats overweight too and ask her if she wants to loose weight and you can both go on a diet and see who looses more weight.and each 3 pounds you loose is worth a dollar.drink a lot of water.before each meal drink a glass

i think you could but i would recomend not taking meat out of your diet! like have a chicken salad. it will help you loose weight! also try cutting down on the dairy like skim milk! now dont be surprised if you arent seeing results right away! it takes time. and make sure your not loosing more than like 10lbs a week. it could make you sick!

Please just make sure that you are doing the right kind of work out. If you work out before you eat, you lose weight, but if you workout after you eat, you'll gain weight. Plus, the type of work out makes a difference. Strength training makes a difference. Not body building. That's what I think.

Run 2 miles everyday and eat healthy. Keep your caloric intake around 3000 per day, and no more fat!! Eat balanced, the low carb diet only works while you're on it, and you will quickly gain the weight back. Plus, carbs are where you get energy to work out from. You don't want to exhaust your body because you won't have any energy to work out and most likely will not feel good. No more dairy. They best idea would be to see a nutritionist and they would make a plan specifically for you. ALso, if you work a lot, park further from whereever you are going, walk instead of drive. Bike on the weekends instead of videogames, wrestle your friends, race your dog whatever you can do to integrate activity into your life. You won't lose 50 lbs by just changing your diet, you have to condition your body to metabolise fats.

ok do this. just do 10 situps on the floor before you put your jammies on at night. every night add 2. then cut out the dairy eat meat cheese and cut out sugar and bread. low carbs is the way. ya see dairy has sugar in it. when not burned its stored as fat. if you have no time for exercise eat alotta salad and drink water. get a low carb dressing. hope i helped. or consider seeing a diet doctor they can give u injections its not too expensive i have done it and it works.

It would be very hard to do but you could get real close. To 50 lbs anyway.

You will have to do some exercise. Walk whenever possible, or ride a bike. Use the stairs instead of elevators. Those kind of things will help if you're strapped for time.

Dairy is very high in fat. Switch to skim milk, lo fat yogurt or cheese if you want to eat it.

Eat regular meals just keep the portion size down and don't do seconds.

The biggest thing to remember is this. If you slip up and cheat on your diet one day. Don't feel it is a lost cause. Get up the next day and start all over again. One day now and then will not hurt a thing if you stick to it most of the time.

Good luck! :)
