the rules of brown.

Question Posted Saturday November 26 2005, 6:15 pm

Hi Everyone!
I just bought a whole bunch of brown/brown tone clothing and I'm wondering about some "rules" i need to keep in mind. I know brown with black is a big no-no but what if it's 2 different tones of brown? Can anyone help me out? <3

no black and brown OR brown on brown. brown with any color looks great, especially pinks and blues.

the only thing that you might be able to do it
tan on brown.
but i wouldnt wear all brown.
and brown and black . no way
brown and pink is cute.
brown and gold is cute
brown and tan is cute
brown and yellow is cute
brown and blue .. not really

actully brown and black can go quite nicely with eachother. a dark dark brown with black is a no- no. but a lighter tone can go nicely. try maybe a soft light brown with black. like i wear this lite brown shirt with these little gold sparkly things on them and with black skrits or black pants with a black mid sweater. and brown and gold sparkles flats.

it may sound wierd but i always get the sweet comments.

try stores like papayas, rampage and styles.

let me know if it works

I don't like it when girls wear brown with more brown. Like a brown shirt and brown pants, that looks ugly as shit. I have a friend that can pull off the brown with black thing, she looks good in it too. Other than that, I think brown looks good with pink and yellow on girls. But what do I know, I'm a guy.

BrokenWings answered Saturday November 26 2005, 7:20 pm:
brown and black is a big yes yes not a big no no but you have to do it in the right way, get it right and you will look AMAZING, get it wrong and you will look a twat. Generally diferent tones of brown go well tho, i have a brown and beige jumper which goes really well with my brown blazer which is completely different brown.
take care xx

Brown and pink is really cute.
Also some sorts of green and brown are cute.
A white shirt and brown pants are cute.
If it's two different tones of brown it wouldn't look right in most cases unless its a sweatshirt and sweatpants that come together in a set.

Look at this website and these two browns would be cute together.

These pants

with this shirt

It just depends.
Usually darker pants look beetter with a ligther tone of the same cplor in a shirt.

Never wear brown on brown, unless it's like a sweat suit and never wear brown with black. It doesn't matter if it's two tones of brown, it still looks bad.
