- NEVER dry shave.
- Find a shaving cream/gel you're happie with.
- If you can't go out and purchase shaving gel, use a bar of soap and lather up REALLY good, but keep it moist and lathered.. don't let it dry out.
- If you CAN purchase shaving gel, I recommend 'Skintimate's Shaving Gel' or 'Barbasol Shaving Cream".
- Use a good razor, and change it often, if not EVERY time.
- Yes, disposable razors are fine.
- After shaving, you could apply lotion or baby oil to help moisturize, and assist in preventing razor burn.
- DO NOT shave daily!! Try every other two days or so.
queenbianca2004 answered Thursday November 10 2005, 7:10 pm: Well I mean it will get like that because its very sensitive. What I usually do is you knoe that thing that guys use to shave their heads? Its like a buzzer?? It dont hurt and you can take off as much as you want. Well like its probably doing that because your not using enough soap and water! So well I hopped I helped
happy-helper answered Thursday November 10 2005, 1:09 pm: How about wax? I know it can be painful but that's the best way to keep away the redness. The skin is VERY delicate down there, so becareful!
G'luck!

Melanie4981 answered Thursday November 10 2005, 9:41 am: Hey there!
Dontcha just hate razor burn!!
The best thing you can use is shaving gel, a sharp razor and afterward apply a damp hot towel for a few minutesd - this makes the pores open slightly so you won't get half as many bumps the day after as it enables the hair that is just under the skin to escape - which is waht creates the bumps!
The best thing I have found that soothes razor burn is Vitamin e cream. It is relatively cheap and you can get it in most drugstores.
Another thing that will stop you from getting bumps is to wait until you have at LEAST 3-5MM of regrowth before you do it again otherwise you may find that each time you do it the bumps get worse because the hairs get even more ingrown.
xOchErrytWistOx answered Wednesday November 9 2005, 10:41 pm: Do not shave with just water! Your pubic area will become all red, splotchy, and infected. Those red bumps are ingrown hairs. They hurt and then they itch. Use lots of shaving cream and cold water to prevent them. Shave only when the hair is getting longer unless its nessicary. Go slow and take your time, cuts hurt.
if you need anything else, let me know.

W0AHxiiTSxKAY answered Wednesday November 9 2005, 9:50 pm: Hey,
You can't just rely on shaving cream...and you DEFINITLY cant substitute it with soap..after you shave "down thurr" you need to use a moisturizer..(or put some aloe on it) that should sooth ur area so you dont burn or itch the next day when the hairs start to grow in..
