Limewire
I want to download limewire because I've heard you can get free downloadable music from it.. but I don't know if it's safe, and I don't know if I'll get in trouble with the law or anything for using it. Does anyone have any experience with it or any advice whether to download it or to not?

i would highly recommend NEVER getting limewire. my computer is currently having a new hardrive put in because i got a virus from it. even if you have a virus blocker it won't matter, because you allow files through so you are saying ok to any file good or bad. the computer people who are fixing my computer told me i shouldn't put it back on once it's fixed. you may never have a problem, but if you do, it won't be good.

Download it. The program is not illegal itself, but downloading songs on there for free is illegal. But who cares? Why pay when you can get it for free? I don't know anyone who *doesn't* use limewire.

First off, let's clear up a huge misnomer here...
Limewire is NOT an illegal application!
Using limewire to download music files that you
have not paid the artist for IS illegal. It's called copyright infringement.
Personally I use streamripper or streamripper32
to rip files from online radio stations
that broadcast music that is NOT controlled
by the corporate jackoff's in the United States
recording industry.
The cheapest way to get the music you like and want
is to go to used CD stores and buy the cd's you
want and then rip them to mp3 format for your ipod.
Anything else is illegal and your decision.

That is illegal. Just because you are *probably* not going to be caught using it, doesn't make it any more legal.

limewire is totally safe. ive heard its illegal but ive had it for a year now. just get it. you dont even have to pay for the music. just get it.

Limewire is illegal but nobody ever gets caught because millions of people use it. It's not like the police are going to come to your house and arresst you.

i use limewire and yes it IS illegal but only if you get caught..which isnt lickley to happen because lots of people use it. it hasnt messed up my computer any either.

Hey. Limewire is great for downloading w/e songs you can think of but it IS illegal!! It's not like the police are going to track you down and arrest you because lotsss of people use it. It also gives you popups and viruses but if you have a good virus blocker then you should be fine. Its up to you if you want to download it but make sure you get the basic version because that is the free one and for PRO you have to pay the descions up to you but good luck!! :)

Hey. I used to use Limewire until my computer decided to break on me, but it wasn't Limewires fault but I haven't redownloaded it. You can't get in trouble with the law or anything. But no music downloads like Limewire and others are safe, they are illegal. But you won't get into trouble. The only people that can potentially get into trouble are the Limewire owners. But I definitely reccomend it. It's probably the best I've ever used. It's much better then Kazaa & Napster. Also, I reccomend WinMX.

I've used limewire for a few years now, and nothing's happened. it's free, and really easy to search, and the music's not bad, either. i think it's a good idea to download it.

I use Limewire and nothign has happened to me and I have had it for a while now.. It's great.

I have it and I love it.
Just stick to downloading only music not music videos because some music videos may contain viruses. Other then that limewire is safe.

I use it.. completely safe.. just dont download anything thats illegal in your country like porn or something.. otherwise go for it :)
