Why do boys always beat each other up? Every morning, there's always at least two boys beating each other up in the hallway or by the lockers. For example, this morning this guy stole another guy's backpack and tied a piece of twine to it, letting it swing over the balcony. The kid who owned the backpack got really angry, and the one who stole the backpack jumped on top of him and tried to throttle him. Why does this happen? Is it hormones, or are the boys in our school just really violent?

sbloemeke answered Tuesday October 4 2005, 9:39 pm: Yes, it is hormones, and it is also male socialogy. Males tend to be more physical when dealing with problems, yet are a bit more dim-witted (Unbiased view, I AM a male), so the just try to hurt the other person through pain. Girls tend to do the same thing, just they hurt the other emotionally by refusing to talk to them for a REALLY long time.
It's normal, it's just hormones. [ sbloemeke's advice column | Ask sbloemeke A Question ]

Teen_Guru answered Tuesday October 4 2005, 8:23 pm: well there are many reasons why guys would fight each other.
here are some are a few common one
- Guys have this thing in their systems that makes them aggressive in nature. so it is "natural that they would try to burn that aggressive ness in fighting each other.
- Some guys do it to prove they are the best, the strongest, whatever, and someone wants to take that title form them.
- Sometimes, some guys would fight, then the loser's friends would challenge the winner, then the loser of that fight would have friends to challenges the winner, and it keeps on going.
I hope it helps you out, don't worry, that is common in that young stage of their life, when they get older, and more mature, they will most-likely change

XoNeLLiE143oX answered Tuesday October 4 2005, 7:59 pm: its really hormones. During the teenage years, boys are becoming men, so they feel that they need to prove theyre strong, not only to other people, but to themselves. They feel insecure and it helps them feel better about themselves. Basically, its just a phase that all boys go through. hope i helped!

tasuki answered Tuesday October 4 2005, 7:52 pm: You know how male deer will compete with each other when they see a hot female deer? It's like that. People are animals, too. We all have certain instincts. Girls also fight with each other, but it's different, you know? I think, also, that the guys just like to touch each other. Again, that's an instinct thing. Of course there are some cases where it's actual violence meant to harm other people, but I think most of what you're seeing is just general male rowdiness, ie, it's probably hormones like you said. I could be wrong though. Maybe if public school encouraged peace and respect, and had a meditation hour instead of, say, dodgeball, then they would stop this behavior. I am not a psychologist or anything. Maybe it is a little bit of both. Nurture -vs- Nature, y'know? However, that one with the backpack does sound like bullying. I think you should report it when it happens, but other than that there is not much you can do.

not_your_star34 answered Tuesday October 4 2005, 7:47 pm: It's just hormones. Most guys are like that. They want to look 'macho' and strong. They don't want to look weak.
They think that they're looking cool and impressing people when they act like that.
