okay here is what you do:
if your a girl:
when you get a food craving, you get some nail polish, and you paint your nails. by the time that the nail polish has dried, your food craving will have more than likely perrished.

While having painted your nails, this prevents you from using your hands to get food, open food, and hold food.

Hey, When ever I want to lose weight what I do is I get an 'exercise buddy'. Durning sit ups get your friend to hold your feet down and increase the amount you do each day you work out. I lost about 9 pounds in a only a couple of weeks doing that. If you want to diet as well, Pick one that suits you, Go to this website 'www.chasefreedom.com' they have a very wide selection of diets. Hope I helped. <3.

hi,

The mainstay of tackling this is a change of lifestyle. That means having a healthier diet and taking more exercise. In addition to these measures some people will need medical treatment, such as therapy for compulsive eating patterns or sometimes drugs and surgery.

To keep running smoothly, your body needs:

Carbohydrates (sugars and starchy food), for energy
Proteins, for building muscle etc
Fats, for energy and making cell walls, etc
Fibre, to keep the gut healthy
Vitamins and minerals, for a wide range of functions
Water, to flush out the waste products of your metabolism
Getting the balance right

Eat regular meals based on carbohydrate in the form of unrefined starchy foods. This means potatoes in their skins, rice, bread and pasta. The wholemeal versions are the best as they are thought to contain more vitamins and release their energy more steadily, as well as containing fibre.
Refined sugary food can cause tooth decay and cause fluctuations in blood glucose levels. Sugar is 'empty calories' and contains only energy without other nutrients (the same goes for alcohol).
Protein is needed in moderate amounts. Go for lean meats, poultry, eggs, fish, beans, lower-fat cheeses, semi-skimmed milk, yoghurts, or soya products.
Fats are essential to health in small amounts. You need roughly equal amounts of saturates (e.g. butter), monounsaturates (e.g. olive oil) and polyunsaturates (e.g. sunflower oil). Try to avoid hardened vegetable oils as they usually contain trans fatty acids that are unhealthy forms of fat.
Vitamins and minerals are best obtained from eating a wide variety of foods. The ones in the tablets (and added to fortified cereals etc) are often not in the same natural forms that are found in food, and may not be absorbed as effectively. Try to eat at least five portions of different kinds of fruit or veg every day to stay in top condition.
Eat breakfast and don't skip meals. You'll be more alert and your metabolism will be better. People who eat breakfast regularly are more likely to be slim than people who skip it.
Combine a balanced diet with regular moderate exercise to feel and look your best.
Make friends with food, it isn't the enemy. It's there to be enjoyed. If you eat something unhealthy, try not to feel guilty, just aim to eat more healthily the next day.
If you stick to these guidelines most of the time, it will be fine if you occasionally eat small amounts of sweet foods and fried foods.

You need to look up your body mass index (BMI), which is a formula that takes into account both your height and your weight. It will give you a healthy range of weights, there isn't a single correct weight to be for your height. Go to your doctor to be weighed and measured, and ask her or him for some medical advice about weight loss. The bathroom scales at home are not accurate enough to give you an exact reading of how much you weigh.

goodluck

Crunches and sit-ups alone won't do the job.

It's a common misconception that crunches and sit-ups will help to shrink your stomach. But that's not really true. That sort of exercise will strengthen the muscles of your abdomen, which might improve your shape a *little* - particularly if you have slack belly muscles. But the main problem is fat.

When you burn fat, your body doesn't target any particular area; it burns fat from ALL OVER your body. That's just how human metabolism works. You need to reduce your overall body fat in order to get results.

Your best options are to eat a healthy diet with lots of fruits and vegetables, drink lots of water, and do cardiovascular exercises at leasy every other day - that is, walk (fast), or jog, or run, or bike, or swim, or use some sort of cardio machine at a gym. Your cardio workout needs to last at least 30-40 minutes, and more is better.

That will speed up your metabolism, which will make your body burn fat at a higher rate all the time - even when you're sleeping.

On alternate days, warm up with some light cardio exercise (about 15 minutes) and do weight training (muscle building, that is); you can use free weights or exercise machines. If money is short, you can get an incredible range of exercise with just a couple of five or ten-pound hand weights; those are very cheap, and you can even find used ones that are even cheaper. By toning up your muscles you'll improve your shape and burn more fat. Muscle tissue burns fat just by *existing*.

Crunches and sit-ups are a fine addition to your muscle-building regimen. Just make sure not to hurt yourself, and give your muscles at least every other day off to rest. After weight training, you can do some more cardio, if you feel up to it. But it's important not to overdo it. If you feel pain, stop and rest! And make sure to stay well-hydrated. Drink a LOT of water.

Another thing that will help is to always look for ways to get a little more exercise. Take the stairs, instead of an escalator or elevator. When you have a meal, take only half as much as you'd normally eat, so that you have to get up and walk back for the other half. That sort of thing.

As for motivation...one thing that helps is to make a regular schedule. If you know that from 7 to 8 o'clock (or whenever) every day is your time to work out, you're much more likely to stick to it - particularly once you make it through the first few days.

You can develop that habit surprisingly quickly.

The key to all this is to make the changes in your life *enjoyable*. If you don't like it, you won't do it. So if a particular vegetable or exercise is just too horrible for you, replace it with something else! It's much better to replace an element than to get discouraged and give up completely.

Good luck!

You might be genetically overweight or you are actually losing fat but building up muscles. Muscles weigh something, too.

Ok you are my first challenge on this site. I have struggled with weight since I was 13. I am not a professional but crunches and sit ups are more for toning. If you have access to the internet, which I guess you do, you can go to yahoo.com and type in "the proper way to do sit ups" or "how to do crunches" and you will find websites that tell you the proper way. If you want to lose weight, the best way is to limit the amount of food you eat. When people have gastric bypass surgery, what happens is their stomache is made smaller allowing them to only eat small portions. Now if you are like me, a small portion which ideally is suppose to be nothing bigger then the palm of your hand, it is not going to fill you up. The secret is, liquids. Drink a full glass of water before you eat. Eat 3 meals, small preferably and dinner can be large. Each portion of food should be bigger then the palm of your hand. Snack on healthy stuff like vegetables or fruit between lunch and dinner and after dinner. Don't eat late, such as past 7:30pm, and if you are still hungry, try drinking some water. Often thirst is mistaken for hunger. To exercise, get the heart beating and blood rushing by dancing. Jump around, move your arms and legs, do this till you can't breathe or are ready to fall to the ground. Stand at the bottom of the steps and step up one step and then back down do this slow then fast then faster. Raise your hands high up in the air like you are reaching for something above your head and make a fist as tight as you can and then twist your hands left then right, left then right do this till your arms feel like they are going to fall off. Squat down half way, then back up again, keeping the back straight. Do this again and again.
