belgiumwaffles answered Sunday September 4 2005, 2:02 pm: Dear, it's something we've all got to do-preparing us for the real world.
It's like the cycle of life-when we're sevvies, or freshies, or whatever, older kids make fun of/influence us. So natually, when we are older, we treat others the same way we were treated-like bitches. And in treating others that way, we become them. But I think we'll all grow out of it.
ADViCEx4xY0U answered Sunday September 4 2005, 12:44 pm: I think they just want to fit in. They want to be popular & they want the "cool kids" to like them, so they treat other people badly. For example, if the popular kids don't like someone, they'll treat them badly, so then other people follow that example in hopes of becoming popular.
I think it's horrible that people have to act like that. Just be yourself & ignore the people who act like that because they aren't worth your time. & always remember, if you're with your friends, then you're -always- with the cool kids.
sbloemeke answered Sunday September 4 2005, 12:07 pm: Because girls in Junior and High School are very rebellious. They are starting to gain independence from their parents which they never had, and take it as much more than it is. They fail to realise that they are not completely free. This last link causes them so much anxiety and defiance, that it carries out to the girl's friends and such.
They also are physically still changing, meaning elevated levels of hormones. This may also attribute to it.

shrimp answered Sunday September 4 2005, 11:48 am: It is not just girls that are "whore and bitches". You will fin everyone is like that at junior high. Thisis a very stressful time everyone is finding themselves and at teh same time they don't want to lose thier rep in the process but thats life.
Girl who are being bitchy are either insacure and don't want to look weak or are having trouble coping.
Calling a whore however is not the right way to go about it, it depends what you mean because when a boy is a whore thats not what he is describes as he is caled aplayer girls get called hoes. Think about that> [ shrimp's advice column | Ask shrimp A Question ]
mbhubbard answered Sunday September 4 2005, 11:14 am: Ah, the great question - "Why are people irrational?"
Whether you realize it or not this is really the question you want an answer to.
You'll find that it's not just the girls, either. The boys are equally petty, vain, superficial and generally obnoxious.
Let me add a caveat - there are some people, even in school, who don't behave this way. When you find them, treasure them. You'll know them by their commmitment to achievement and their total disregard for what the vain, petty, and superficial think.
There are a number of reasons why people behave badly (irrationally); natural stupidity, bad upbringing, too much tv (and yes, I'm serious), and a generally useless education system are all contributing factors. In the case of your question, stop and think for minute - how are girls portrayed on TV? In video games? Take a look at Paris Hilton. GTA. TRW. Starting to see the problem?
That you asked this question, though, means that there is hope for you. You, in seeking to know why people act this way, have made a dramatic step toward rationality. Start by reading - maybe take philosophy if it is offered at your school. Take psychology if it's offered. Read Ayn Rand's books.
Oh, and one other thing; don't think it's just school kids. Every part of our society has it's share of superficial, ignorant, deluded people. If it weren't there to emulate, kids wouldn't. Ignore them, press on, and live a better, more thoughtful life. [ mbhubbard's advice column | Ask mbhubbard A Question ]
