MELiixMARiiE answered Monday September 5 2005, 9:54 am: you don't HAVE to, but sometimes before you straighten your hair, its good to put some gel in it so it lasts longer..but other than that ; no. And for curling, you def. need to spray hairspray on right after you curl it ( for me I need to put the hairspray on my hair right BEFORE I curl it, otherwise it comes out in like 2 seconds ) I hope I helped!
gaby09 answered Sunday September 4 2005, 9:33 pm: you dont HAVE to put something on it but its always good to put some heat protecting spray on first so u dont damage your hair.
Christeena answered Sunday September 4 2005, 10:19 am: If you want your style to last longer, you could try using creams or sprays to help your style outlast the day. Or, if you have damaged hair or want to prevent damage you could buy a heat defense spray, like the one from V05. [ Christeena's advice column | Ask Christeena A Question ]
jj_u_i_c_y answered Saturday September 3 2005, 10:24 pm: hey hun, you usually dont need to. but like after i take a shower and my hair is damp not soaking wet and put it this hair thing bye garnie frutiese in the little circle bottle so wen i straighten my hair it gets straight and smooth and not frizzy or wen i just blow dry it.
SpartanDancer985 answered Saturday September 3 2005, 9:46 pm: I don't put nothing on it, but you have to watch what kind of straightener and curler you get. I'm not sure what kind or curlin iron you are supossed to get, but get a ceramic straightener with gold plates. Its not supossed to fry your hair and i don't think it ever has.
Teza answered Saturday September 3 2005, 7:25 pm: If you want to you can. I usually do. I use a heat protection spray. It's called Ion and it just protects my hair from damaging from the heat and stuff. I also use Zero Frizz by John Freeda. It works really good. You can also get Garnier products because they are also very good. I tried the new curling thing from Pantine and it makes your hair really smooth and skiny. You could try that too. andhearts answered Saturday September 3 2005, 5:40 pm: well, yes you should put some kind of product on it before you use a curler OR a straightener. i learned this the hard way. it burns your hair...you might not beable to tell right away but the hair dressers caught mine before it got too bad. it will fry your hair and make it frizzy. so ANY type of product is goo. i use a sleek and shine (blue bottel) from purology but its exspensive = really, ANY product is good. i hope i helped =) [ andhearts's advice column | Ask andhearts A Question ]
Brittany_Kay answered Saturday September 3 2005, 5:27 pm: Well I always straighten my hair in the morning and berofre I do I put in Zero Frizz and I also put in Sleek and Shine afterwards. It always looks way better after that. When I curl my hair I just put in Curl boster so it's more boncey! :)
SmoothiesFknRock answered Saturday September 3 2005, 5:19 pm: ALWAYS use some kind of a shine in your hair before you straighten it! It protects your hair from the damage that all that heat can do to your hair, but it still allows it to straighten. I use this stuff called "Beyond shine" and it works really well. But seriously, it really keeps your hair from getting damaged and it looks healthier and prettier too!
