azngemini answered Wednesday August 24 2005, 3:57 pm: i've gotten my belly button pierced, and trust me, it doesnt hurt that bad. even if it did hurt really badly, the pain would be all worth it. i dont know anything that would make the pain hurt less, but my advice is that you should calm down and stop freaking out about it so much. you'll think it will hurt a lot, but it's all in your head. just clear your mind during the piercing prodecure, and you'll be fine. oh, and another advice is to eat before you pierce your belly button. my piercer told me why, but i forgot, lol..
Curemysadness answered Wednesday August 24 2005, 3:32 pm: Getting your belly button pierced does not hurt any more than getting your ears pierced. First you go in and they show you the equipment that they will be using so you know for sure that it is sanitary and has never been used before. Then you lay or sit down on a chair/bed type thing, and they clean the area around your belly button. After that they should put two dots on your belly button, on the top and underneath it so they know where to stick the needle. They clamp the skin above your belly button and then stick the needle up through the bottom. You feel a bit of a pinch from the clamp and a really breif pain from the needle entering your skin. It's really not as bad as most people make it seem. After you get it done, you should clean it with salt water, a few times a day for the first week or two. You can also find products to clean it with at stores such as CVS, or Wal-Mart. Don't try to change your belly button ring right away either. Wait a few months, until it is fully healed both inside and outside. [ Curemysadness's advice column | Ask Curemysadness A Question ]
geminic17 answered Wednesday August 24 2005, 3:31 pm: Listen if you don't want it to hurt just don't think about it. But be careful cause you can get infected. Put warm water everyday so it won't get infected. [ geminic17's advice column | Ask geminic17 A Question ]

xO0TR0PiCALTEAR answered Wednesday August 24 2005, 2:52 pm: it didnt hurt that bad actually. dont hesitate with it. cause then you build up all the excitement and you expect it to be worse than it already is. For me they gave me a stress ball to squeeze while they did it. that kinda helped i guess. Uhmm for cleaning it..clean it when they tell you to. but dont Over clean it .. it could irritate(spelling?) it. hope i helped

Karen answered Wednesday August 24 2005, 2:21 pm: Actually, it doesn't hurt at all. The pain feels like a little pinch and you'll hardly tell when your belly button is pierced. You can ask the body piercer to numb your belly button and you won't feel anything at all. Try to think of something else, other than the needle when you're getting your belly button pierced. falliingxagain answered Wednesday August 24 2005, 2:07 pm: I dont think it hurt at all. And I got it done twice. Don't hold your breath - that makes it worse. Breathe in and out slowly and count your breaths. Think about something other than the needle. [ falliingxagain's advice column | Ask falliingxagain A Question ]
