tellmemore381 answered Wednesday August 17 2005, 5:42 pm: Cold sores are a form of herpes, but don't worry about it. They are just caused by bateria and it goes away pretty quickly and you cannot give it to anyone. If you had a serious form of herpes, you would know. You will get several cold sores and they hurt very badly. Hope that helped! <3 [ tellmemore381's advice column | Ask tellmemore381 A Question ]

karenR answered Tuesday August 16 2005, 2:14 am: Herpes is the same virus as the chicken pox.
You can get what is commonly called a canker or cold sore inside your mouth. It is also part of the same virus. It doesn't stay. It is flat and round and possibly yelloe in color. A pimple like thing is more than likely a blister of some sort, maybe from a tooth rubbing on your lip or something. Here is a website that might help out with your questions.
MELiixMARiiE answered Tuesday August 16 2005, 1:28 am: True cold sore = type of herpes
false not all people get herpes/cold sores
if someone has either i would not touch them. As for if you have it i doubt it. Herpes stays on the outside of the mouth usually. [ MELiixMARiiE's advice column | Ask MELiixMARiiE A Question ]
xo_jenna_respects_ox answered Tuesday August 16 2005, 1:00 am: I don't think it is herpes. It is probably just a cankre sore or a cold sore. It is just from eating so much acid like in citrus, not harmful acid, don't worry. Hope i helped.
artistegirly answered Monday August 15 2005, 11:33 pm: It could be a cold sore, or maybe it was just a pimple...It's true that it's veeeery common to get some kind of the herpes virus, just by sharing lip gloss or a drink. Once you get it, it's for life. There's no cure, but here are creams and meds to supress the cold blisters.
When I was in 2nd grade, I got the virus so badly that I was stuck in bed for 2 weeks drinking nothing but energy drink and yogurt. But that was an extreme case, most people just have breakouts every once in a while. Usually I get mine before my period or when I have a cold, though I've been breakout free for like 3 months I think, so I wouldn't worry about it if you do have it. Just try not to let you immune sytem weaken!
MFS answered Monday August 15 2005, 11:17 pm: most all the cold sores and cankre sores are caused by a herpes virus. In this case it is a herpes simplex. Chicken pox is also a herpes virus. There are many different herpes and related viruses - but not all of them are the sexually transmitted kind. Herpes viruses are essentially permanent, though. Your body can suppress them, but it is nearly impossible to get rid of them. [ MFS's advice column | Ask MFS A Question ]
