Firs tof all KNOW HOW TO DO ONE. Not knowing can be very bad. First of all, If you can do a back walkover fairly well it can help a lot. Also if you cna find a spoter who knows how to properly spot helps also[[i spot my bff and its load of fun]] just practice makes perfect getting your back bend so you can almost touch your head to your back of your legs helps tons.. grass is goo but with a spot untill your fear is gone or else haha thats anoeth story lets just say one of my girls i spot got tlaked into with her friends about doing a stunt.. she was terrified but did it anways and had no clue how to do it.. she broke her wrist.

Just enough times to get yourself comfortable with it. [ VainTaraLynn's advice column | Ask VainTaraLynn A Question ]
Azngangsta answered Thursday August 11 2005, 7:30 pm: Fear of falling on your back or head is normal. A good place to start flipping is on a steep grass hill (that's how I learnd) The steep hill will help you get around more with less effort. Good luck. Hope I helped! shutupnkissme98 answered Thursday August 11 2005, 5:55 pm: if you have a trampoline or know someone that dose thats probably the best place. its easy to flips on them and it helps you learn. also it doesnt really hurt if you fall cuz its just a trampoline. M3GHANBUCHERvllybll answered Thursday August 11 2005, 4:39 pm: I did gymnastics and i always had that fear too! i even stopped tumbling backwards like back-handsprings!
but anyway back on subject. if you feel comfortable doing backflips on the grass you can practice there, for christmas one year my grandparents bought me a mat that i would practice on all the time! so if your birthdays coming up or if you have some money and want to look on ebay... to help w/the fear of going backwards all i can conger up is to trust yourself enough to where you know that you can go backwards because you've done it so many times before!
i know that advice is a little scratchy so if you have anymore questions you can drop one in my inbox! i hop i helped
orphans answered Thursday August 11 2005, 3:47 pm: i would go to your local gym and use their equipment, there might even be someone there to help you and show you haw to do it properly, if not i used to know people who used to use their beds... but im not so sure about that lol

Supermanlover45 answered Thursday August 11 2005, 3:18 pm: Maybe if you have like a mat. That's not rough but padded. Or maybe on carpet fluffy not that fluffy but still pretty fluffy. <<-- I wouldn't say grass is the best place because that's rough and if you do land on your neck or head it won't be too pretty. Hope I helped. Sorry if I didn't.
