i pulled a muscle in my stomach yesterday (or so i think) by doing a back-tuck off of a diving board into a pool. after i threw the tuck it hurt really bad in the side of my stomach so i thought i pulled something. today at cheer/tumbling i couldn't throw tucks or even back-handsprings b/c it hurt so bad and then towards the end i couldn't even do round-offs. so i told the instructor and he let me leave early. is there anything i can do to make it feel better like put heat on it? it's on the left side of my stomach under my ribs... thanks so much
· Generalized abdominal cramps. Pain usually begins near the navel and moves down to the lower right. The pain becomes worse when the person moves or touches the area.

The best thing to do is to put an icey-hot on it for about 5-10 minutes and then try to stretch it out SLOWLY. That way when the muscle heals it won't loose all it's flexibility. It also lets it heal a little faster. Hope i helped!! -BandGeeksUnite [ bandgeeksunite's advice column | Ask bandgeeksunite A Question ]

You don't want to get active real soon and spend the entire year with muscle strain. A doctor can tell you when you can resume your activities without doing more damage. :)
This site will help you understand and prevent muscle strain.
