I have to admit, I'm a huge wuss and I can't drink any hard alcohol straight. I always have to mix it with soda or something. Is there any way to make drinking alcohol straight easier or more tolerable?

To minimiz getting drunk fast and help to keep from getting a hang over or pukeing try eating something with bread in it like pizza or a sandwich or etc or even rice. These help to absorb the alcohol in your stomach. [ snowbird's advice column | Ask snowbird A Question ]

I shall help you!
I suggest working your way up from malt liquor. I find that a lot of that goes down considerably easy - you won't get sloshed drinking any of that, but its a stepping stone. Then i'd suggest going for a few mixed drinks, white russians, coke and rum, and then just slowly take out the other ingredients (Its probably cheaper to go with coke and rum - A bottle of Kahlua is on average $10 more than a bottle of rum (here at least) and rum is a lot harder than kahlua - I'm not even sure why I mentioned the white russian to be honest)

If you find the taste of one alcoholic drink awful, just try a different kind or try one of the flavored alcohols. They're quite good. You may have to experiment to find what you like.
LanaBabie answered Wednesday August 3 2005, 12:53 am: well one, alcohol is supposed to taste gross. It does because you don't like it. If you don't like it, don't drink it. Really, its bad for you because it's really addicting and it can screw up your life and your relationships. Its just really bad for you in the first place. That doesn't make you a wuss, if you don't drink it, that makes you smart. If you must, it is so much better to mix it with soda because the effect isn't so bad. <3 Lana. And mixing it with something isn't dring it straight now is it?
Okay, shots are a good idea. But have a chaser, something that taste goos to drink RIGHT after you take the shot, it won't help with the burning sensation, you get from like..vodka, but it will make your mouth taste better.
Loveneverdies answered Tuesday August 2 2005, 11:53 pm: I have an idea. Don't drink it. Trust me, because once you can get down the alcohol, you wont be able to stop. And then your life will go down in to a deep dark hole, that will be hard to get out of. You'll have to build yourself a ladder out of mud. And that will take a very long time.
So stay away from it. And if that means staying away from some of your friends that are pressuring you to drink, then so be it. Trust me, i've seen this way to many times. Get out while you ahead.
Rate me, and i hope i helped.even though that wasnt what you were looking for, it what is best for you.
