DangerWench answered Wednesday July 27 2005, 5:12 pm: Unless it's giving you the "runs", you probably aren't eating too much fruit. ;-)
Fruit is a whole, natural food, and very good for you! Natural sugars are VERY different from the processed white sugar you buy in a bag at the supermarket. Go ahead, eat lots of fruit!
But it probably shouldn't be the only thing you eat, of course... Vegetables, beans, rices & grains, and whole breads & pastas are all great ingredients for a healthy diet.
Don't concentrate so much on worrying about what's "fattening". Counting calories and fat grams sucks, and you don't need to do it anyway. Just concentrate on whole, unprocessed foods, and lots of water and exercise. You can't go wrong. :-) [ DangerWench's advice column | Ask DangerWench A Question ]
ncblondie answered Wednesday July 27 2005, 3:57 pm: Fruit is good for a diet as long as you remember that a lot of fruits are high in sugar. I would try adding vegetables to round out your diet. [ ncblondie's advice column | Ask ncblondie A Question ]
cailoisa answered Wednesday July 27 2005, 3:52 pm: Fruit has calories just like everything else. You could try finding a book or website that has the calorie information for fruit. A piece or two won't matter two much one way or the other. However, if you are eating several pieces of fruit in a day, then you may want to watch the calories that you are getting from it. mushoku answered Wednesday July 27 2005, 3:33 pm: Fruits have a lot of sugar. Sugar means calories means fat, but there's a lot less sugar in fruit than junk food, so I don't think a lot of fruit is a bad thing. Just don't forget the green leafy vegetables - they have no carbs, sugar, or fat. [ mushoku's advice column | Ask mushoku A Question ]
VixenDark answered Wednesday July 27 2005, 3:33 pm: Yeah, it is. But it takes longer to add up. Three pieces of fruit equal about one candy bar.
Try more filling healthy foods.
Or make smoothies! They are much more filling than fruit alone.
Or make a fruit salad. Sitting down and eating the fruit prepared may help you feel full.
