Why do people like romantic themes in stories? It's not that I don't, I'm just curious, what do people find attractive about love stories?

well, if your with a boyfriend/girlfriend & you see a romantic movie then its just something that they like to think about, like "I hope our lives turn out like that" or something, & its just what a lot of people like to do with there boyfriend/girlfriend is go to a movie & so if your seeing a romantic movie that makes it better

I think it's mainly because that's how you wish your love life was like. Everythings so perfect in romantic movies and stories, there's always a happy ending. So when we are reading a book or watching a movie we are able to feel that and try to picture us being them.

I think that the case for some people is that they can picture themself in the story. They can identify with the character and want them to fall in love, because love is the ultimate high.

♥Dreams mostly. In romantic love stories have you noticed everything is perfect? Just how everyone would want their love to be. People watch them to feel comforted and dream about what they want in a relationship (even though it could never be that perfect). Also, people just feel happy when they cry over happy endings, it releases good happy feelings.

Because it's the perfect love we dream of. It's the love we feel we will never find, so we try to live it however we can, which would be through someone else in books and movies. ♥

What makes people interested in love stories? The answer is simple, no one wants to be alone or feel lonely, and love stories give us hope that there's is some happiness in this world.

people watching or reading love stories put themselves in the position of the main character. when all these lovely and amazing things happen to the character, the person feels happy, too. people love having good things happen to 'themselves' and they love seeing 'themselves' have the perfect romance filled with passion.

its because real life never has romance like in movies and stories. people want the perfect ending, but it never happens. romance and love are both just a let down in the end. it mostly just gives people a false sense of what love is. they are attracted to it because its what they want.

Personally I love romance because....it's so romantic! lol. I think it just makes the story even more interesting. Like gossip. Everyone (Okay, not everyone) has some romantic fantasies. Maybe some people picture themselves to be in the story. Maybe it helps people escape their own lives, whether the story is sad or happy. Also it gives you something to be happy about. You know how if your bestfriend got married or something you'd be happy right? Well in books you can be happy or sad for them. It's weird, but yeah. Or maybe they're just suckers for sweet things (like me). I don't think the question is about people liking romance in stories. I think the question is why people like romance period. I can't really explain why, but I'm definitely a sucker for love. Haha. Even if it's corny, if there's love in it I won't totally hate the stories.

Because most have the endings we all like. Everything turns out perfect.
There are also storys like Science Fiction and that type of story that may not necessarily appeal to the ladies if there wasn't a romantic theme thrown in. :)
