Tampon leaking? I just inserted my first tampon about an hour and 15 minutes ago. Well, half of the string is covered in blood and i still have blood dripping out into a pad. Why is it doing this? IS the tampon full already?? I used a playtex gentle glide regular if it helps. I also have a heavy flow. Should i take the tampon out or what?

If your flow is heavy, you need a bigger tampon. Simple as that. ;) Only use the size you need though, because if you use one thats too big you could get TSS. Hope I helped! ♥ ]
You should prolly just change it and wear a new one. Taking it out the first few times is supposed to feel weird. And tampons, after awhile, do start to leak. If you have a heavy flow you should change it every 1 and a half to two hours. Wear a minipad when you're not swimming.
Keep it real,

If you've got a heavy flow, you need to change the tampon more often than if you have a light flow. Once you get used to wearing tampons, you'll be more comfortable with knowing how often is often enough to change it. You definatly shouldn't wait until it's leaking to change it because that could possibly lead to medical complications like TSS. Which is bad. ]
well sometimes (and this is probably the case since you said you have a heavy flow and your only using a regular) the tampon does get filled quickly and you should change it and put a new one in. also wut could be happening is that if you were lying down or were sitting at an angle or something, half the tampon(not the top or bottom half but like the left side or something) wil fill up and go down to the string and leak out. either way, yes, you should change it or just take it out.

hey i just started using a tampon to so Im as worried about it as you are .. if it is leaking like that then you need a bigger tampon .. if you have a heavy flow you just need a bigger one .. using little ones are good for startes but once you get used to it you should really use one that fits you with out having to change it every hour and a half ]
If half the string is covered in blood, then you need to use a larger tampon. If you're using junior, use regular, if you use regular, use maxi. If you use maxi and it STILL leaks, then you might have to stick to pads. Or using a maxi tampon, and putting a pad underneath it. I say you should change it right now. As for it being up too high, you're supposed to stick it in until all that's sticking out is the string. Hope I helped!
