Kind of dog

Question Posted Saturday July 9 2005, 8:06 pm

My family wants to get another dog. We already have a Bichon Frise and we would like to get another small dog, maybe smaller that a Bichon Frise. Does any body know of any good dogs, that work well with children, are cute, arent that expensive, and would work well with another small dog? My Bichon Frise is very sweet if that matters for anything. Thanks!

my aunt has a dog that's a mix from a peekanese and a poodle. they're non alergenic and really sweet dogs. her dog only gets along with small dogs but i'm not sure if that's the same for all of them. they're called Peekapoo's. the name kinda suits their personality. they're cute and spunky and have a lot of energy but can also be a great lap dog.

well i would recomend a mixed breed. Everyone ive talked to always says they are the best to have because they tend to be better manners. its not always true but they dont always have all the bad things like (temper, self centered ness) purebreds do. also they are fairly cheap from shelter. The only bad thing is unless they no the father and monther or the monther is really small you dont no the size of the dog. Our first dog was a mixed breed and he was the sweetest dog you could ever ask for. small purbreds tend to be bad with children and self centered and dont do well with other dogs. i hope i helped

I have a Dauchsund, or however you spell it (mostly known as a weiner dog), and she is absolutely the sweetest dog in the world! We've had her since she was little, and we also have another dog that she gets along with. Shes also very good with children, all the kids I baby sit adore her, and its hard not to fall in love with her. She wasnt really inexspensive, but we got her from a pet store, and they always seem to raise the price. I am sure if you looked in the newspaper classifides, or local breeders you could find one that was cheap.

I hope this helps you! =]

most cocker spaniels are absolutely adorable and are nice to children if children are nice to it [the cocker spainel]. Same with Pomeranians. Pomeranians can tend to have a loud shrill bark, but you can have them de-barked.

Westies [[google them if you never heard of it]] are really awesome dogs! their medium length and they are active, cute, lovable and great protective dogs. Their a little more hyper when their yunger but when they get older their good to relax, but still play. My only dislike of these dogs is that their a little stiff [[in bone structure...there not "floppy ragitty-ann dolls"]] they work great with other dogs
Chiwawas are kind of obnoxsious[[sp?]] and have loud mouths for a small dog,but there SOO cute!! there tiny aswell. There an awesome cuddle dog! [[and to play]]but they might not work all that good with other dogs.[[but all dogs have a different personality]]
Try looking at dogs at the pound! im so sensitive and i cry when i see the dogs there but if you got one there you'd make that dog soo happy!!!
My dog is a mut. Shes half Bichon half Sheezoo[[sp?]] Shes so cute!! and shes playful, relaxing, lovable, not expensive [[because she is a mutt]] and she never sheds!! they're good protectors and about the same size of a regular Bichon. They would work well with another small dog no doubt about it.Sheezoo's are cool beacause you can to all this awesome stuff with their hair when they get older to!![[like put it in pony tails, braids, all that!!]]
Maltese's are soo adorible and would get along great with other dogs!!

well i hope i helped!!
try googleing this question to and maybe it could give you a better answer if mine didnt help!

aw i have a bichon too! i also have a border collie/lab mix. at first they didnt get along that much but now they do! they LOVE eachother! but annie ((the border collie/lab)) is a lot bigger than pippin ((my bichon)). i think in general bichons are very friendly and will get along with any dog big or small. as for in expensive, it depends on the breeder. just dont get it from a pet store! i rescued annie and got pippin from a breeder. look online. do some research! good luck! hope all works out!
