It stands for Sexually Transmitted Diseases. AIDS is one of the things. Theres Gential Warts, Gonnorhea ( sorry about the spelling ), Herpes, Crabs..etc. You can get it through almost any type of sexual contact ( not kissing though ) ..it's good you asked. You should learn about it. How old are you, cause you should learn by about 8th grade.( Thats when they taught it to us this year..)..Hope I helped!!

MELii

std is short for sexually transmitted disease, which can include aids, but also herpes, gonorrhea, genital warts, and other unpleasant things you can get if you don't use a condom or other protection.

STD stands for 'sexually transmitted disease.' Some places call it STI - sexually transmitted infections.

These include AIDS, but also HIV, herpes, chlamydia, gonorrhea, sypphilis, and warts.

STDs can be transmitted in several ways, including blood and bodily fluid. You can help prevent transmission by by having safer sex - which is more than just condoms.

It includes knowing the risks, taking appropriate caution (in whatever form), and being open and honest with partners.

An STD is short for Sexually Transmitted Disease. You get an STD from giving oral sex or have sex with someone who has an STD.

Mackenzie answered Friday July 8 2005, 3:09 pm:
"STD" is short for SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED DISEASE. They are contracted through sexual encounters, such as oral sex, and sexual intercourse. HIV is one of the MANY STD's, later blooming into full blown AIDS. Some STD's are FATAL, CONTAGIOUS and UNCURABLE. It's a VERY serious matter, this is why deciding to become sexually active is such a tremendous decision.. there are many, many, many consquences.. some that could end up in the price of your life, ya know??
