Yorkie

Question Posted Monday July 4 2005, 2:31 pm

Hi, I really want to get a Yorkie, maybe a teacup yorkie, or a mini yourkie. Does anybody know about how much they cost, not including the pet supplys. and if anyone has one are they good pets? And does anyone have any names for dogs? Thank you!!

i have been looking for one this week.
we went to the pet store and found one for 1400.
we thought that was pretty ridiculous.
so we looked in the paper and most of them were about 800.
maybe thats just where i live, but thats pretty much the prices.
I think that it depends where and who you get the dog from that makes it a good pet.
if you buy one from the paper from a home, it will most likely be a good pet.
I think if you get one from a pet store they won't be as good of a pet, because breeders just breed and breed. and most of the time they end up having health problems.
i am actually having trouble finding a name for mine, so i think the ones other people have answered are very good. (:

hope i could help.

well i believe that they could run in the 1000s of dolars. the smaller the dog u get the more expensive. Pet supplies can be fairly cheap but the cost to care for it can be expensive. Ive heard they dont make great family pets because little dogs like that can tend to be self centered. my neighbor used to have one and it hated other people and children. I would recomend i different breed if u have a family or not tons of time to care for it. Mixed breeds always tend to be better and cheaper and have better personalities. try a yorkie mix i would think you would be better off.

Hi, I just answered the question that you sent to my inbox, but then I thought of something else.

Your in Conneticut right? That's pretty close to Maine, Vermont, and New Hampshire. Then you should search Uncle Henry's. If you go to the webpage, then you can get a free four week free trial. Uncle Henry's is a place to sell/buy/give away most anything from cars to pets to furniture. That's how I got my current car, and I found a wonderful owner for my beloved dog on there.

There will be a lot of people selling puppies, and some older yorkies too.

There's the web page. I would search for you, but I've already used up my free trial period.

Awseome, cause I wanna get a Yorkie too!! =) Aren't they so cute?! Anyways, Yorkies run anywhere from $400.00 on up to like, $3,500.00. It just depends on their background and also if the parents were show dogs. You can get a very nice one for 4 to 5 hundred dollars by just looking in your local newspaper. And yeah, they're athletic and playful and make very good pets. Some names could be ( I got some of these off a site..):

Theo
Snickers
Tootsie
Ruffles
Wiggles
Misha
Traci
Yipper
Leah
Princess
Pepper
Killer
Janie
Wheezer
Harley
Saydie
Pebbles
Mugsie
Hannah
Bailey
Chelsea
Rufus
Maddie
Murphy
Lucy
Moose
Petey
Biscuit
Tiffy
Lucky
Maizy
Sammie
Ozzie
Tinkerbell
Lulu
Peanut
Toto
Winston
Ralphie
Max

.. if you don't like any of those.. try looking some more up..they got a bunch!! =) Hope I helped!!

Love,
MELii

alot of money
$350-$1,000 about depends on where you get it
you could check a local shelter, but sometimes the dogs there where abused so they dont really do well with children, if that would be a problem

hope i helped!

Thats the dog I want to get and I probablly might!! It just depends from where you are getting the dog from. They are about $500-1,000! They are kind of pricy but its all worth it. They do make really good pets and plus they are super adorable! They just really like to play a lot and they like attention. I would help you with the names but Im not sure for a girl or a boy! ♥//
