Ive heard you can dye your hair with lemon juice..is this true? does it work? does it look good? how do you do it? i mean do you just squeeze a lemon over your head? Does it work if you have dark hair?? like really dark..
and can you get it out??
Faerie answered Saturday July 2 2005, 6:20 am: Hey there. I was just reading the other answers. Hmm...i never knew they worked. But think about this. Lemon juice is acidic. It might damage your hair or might harm your scalp. I dunno. It's like the pepsi thing.
texas_hotti answered Friday July 1 2005, 12:05 pm: Yea this works! In the summer time when you want to give yourself highlights. And no..its not an actual lemon. In any grocery store you can find this lemon juice stuff. I actually did this once and the lemon juice came in a little green containor. Anyway..its the sun that makes your hair lighter (some chemical reaction with the lemon juice...idk) so where ever you put the lemon juice..your hair will get lighter! and yes..in time the streakes will wear out. Hope I helped!! <3 Candace [ texas_hotti's advice column | Ask texas_hotti A Question ]

blondebaby1016 answered Thursday June 30 2005, 11:35 pm: Well, you can go to the store and buy a bottle of lemon juice, I am not sure what kind. From what I remember, you get your hair wet, and then sprinkle it on your hair and leave it in, and then lay out in the sun for at least 20 minutes, and then take a shower. I tried it once, but there were flys swarming my head because of the lemon juice scent and I got pissed and went inside, but my friend tried it and its a well-known old fashioned way to lighten your hair. Im not entirely sure if it works on dark hair, but give it a try anyways. [ blondebaby1016's advice column | Ask blondebaby1016 A Question ]
Danigurl answered Thursday June 30 2005, 3:24 pm: It doesnt exactly dye your hair. It just makes it lighter and it kinda highlights your hair. Just squeeze it over your head or whereever you want it. [ Danigurl's advice column | Ask Danigurl A Question ]
smartgirl321 answered Thursday June 30 2005, 3:17 pm: you can dye your hair with lemon juice it is more like highlighting though. it works very well on brown hair. i did it to my hair one summer and i got a lot of compliments.
you can use lemon juice it a squeeze bottle. the best way to do it is to take strands of hair and cover them in lemon juice. then you let it dry. wash your hair after you are sure its dry.
it does work if you have dark hair you just hve to put more on it. it eventually fades out after a while or it goes away when you grow and cut your hair.

Teza answered Thursday June 30 2005, 11:43 am: No! Its acually not lemon. Everyone is saying it is but its not. Its lime. You use it with vinager and you put it through your hair and you go lay out in the sun for like 2 hours. It does work a bit but if you have really hark hair it wont work so good but it depens. It might turn a bit orangish. It does come out after a while tho. ♥// ex_oh [ Teza's advice column | Ask Teza A Question ]
IceAngel13 answered Thursday June 30 2005, 10:24 am: I would't suggest it, my cousin tried iyt and it turned her hair a really ugly orange color and it's perminant for a couple of months, until ityy wears off. Not only that but it made my cousin's hair break and madew it really dry. And she had really dark brown hair, but it doesnb't matter what color your hair is, it turs out the same. I definetly wouldn't suggest this method. Hope I helped.
