Question Posted Saturday June 11 2005, 1:31 am

how do you use it and what's better a pencil or liquid...?

I have tried a pencil but the tip is rough and you have to push too hard for it to show up at all so I'm confued.

Thanx!

for the bottom lid i use a pencil..NYC brand eyeliner is good and cheap(like $1-$2)..it goes on really easy and covergirl eyeliner is AWESOME!!! but like $11!!! and for the top i use covergirl liquid liner but make sure you get a liquid liner with a point not a brush

okay for me..i couldnt get pencil on me so i used automatic because i liked it alot better but anyway for me i think that liquid is better but i dont really like using it so try automatic it may work better for you. when u put eyeliner on like hold you bottom set of eyelashes and like gently put it on and go back and forth just press down harder and harder each time

They both work great, for me at least.
Just use which ever you like best. I use pencil, but i use the soft tip kind, the liquid makes my eyes all watery and that shit. But if the pencil hurts you then use the liquid.

If you are only about 10 years or under than you shouldnt use make-up yet but i would use a pencil because it is better than liquid because i think that liquid would run down your face if you want to use a pencil than tip it over on its side and put it on your eye!

Personally I prefer a pencil, but liquid is great because you can just touch the tip to your eyelid without pressing and you instantly get a great, thin line. Sometimes liquid can be hard to get off your eye, but if you use a good quality eye makeup remover then you should be fine.
Check out www.sephora.com and click on makeup, eyes, then eyeliner to find a great quantity of eyeliners that are really good quality. It may be possible that the pencil you have isn't high quality, because the pencils I have smudge right off on my lids.
Good luck!

I defenetlly prefer pencil. The reason your does that is because its not good at all. I use Revlon and its not exacly pencil but you will find which one you like most. I use this [Link](Mouse over link to see full location)
Lancome make up is really good but its kind of pricy! ♥

When it comes to liquid eyelineR oR pencil eyelineR, it's just a peRsonal pRefeRence as to which we use. CeRtain things suit ceRtain people. HoweveR, if you ask... chances aRe that most people will tell you that pencil is a betteR choice. It's a gReat staRt foR a beginneR who is just getting used to it. If you mess up, pencil is A WHOLE LOT easieR to clean up and Re-do than liquid would be. And if you plan on caRRying it aRound in a puRse oR pocket.. you also face a chance that the liquid may Ruin [though I don't suggest caRRying eyelineR in youR pocket]. And if you do mess it up, just take a tissue and slowly Run it along the Rim of youR eyelid.. it'll come Right up. Now, the desiRed effect of eyelineR is to cReate the illusion of daRkness just above the lashline to enhance the look of the lashes. To apply it, gently hold youR eyelid down, and staRt at the inneR paRt of the lid [closest to youR nose]. Then just simply dRaw a thin line smoothly and evenly along the uppeR lid, getting as close to the lashes as possible. Also, make shoRe you dRaw the line all the way to the outside coRneR. It will pRobably take some pRactice -- it took me a while at fiRst too... now I have it down incRedibly well. And now foR the pRoducts... peRsonally, I think the two best bRands of eyelineR out theRe aRe "MeRyl NoRman" and "Beautique". "MeRyl NoRman", which can only be puRchased at "The MeRyl NoRman Cosmetic Studios", is pRicey [typically $8.50 - $15.00], but it REALLY IS good stuff. It goes on wondeRfully, and stays on all day!!! On the otheR hand... I happen to think that "Beautique" is INCREDIBLE, howeveR, I've ONLY seen "Beautique" at "Sally's". And "Beautique" is only .99 cents. TRUST ME.. I would NEVER EVER EVER buy cRap make up!!! I get only the best, so please, please, please, please DON'T let this dollaR pRice thRow you off - you'd be cheating youRself out of the best pRoduct out theRe!! I'd *PERFER* "Beautique" out of ANY otheR bRand of eyelineR!! I could easily go out and buy a $15.00 pencil, but I'd RATHER get "Beautique"! "Beautique" glides on smoothly and REALLY LASTS ALLLLL DAY!!! I CAN NOT pRomote this item enough!! And if you still have doubts... foR only .99 cents.. it's woRth a shot!! I hope I helped!!

Liquid is a lot harder to use, in the sense that if you mess up, it's harder to take off and start over again. I prefer pencil because it's a lot neater. I really don't bother put eyeliner on the top because I end up screwing it up. I just put some on the bottom and try to get it as close to my lashes as I can. Keep experimenting with different types of eyeliner and you'll eventually find the kind you like. Personally, I like Mary Kate and Ashley eyeliner from Wal-Mart. I just works for me; it stays on all day and the tip is soft and glides right on.

rainbowcherrie answered Saturday June 11 2005, 3:49 am:
Liquid is good for the top lid but pencil is probably best for the lower one. The pencil you are using is probably just a bad one, I suggest you get one by Rimmel as they are very good. A good eyeliner pencil will just go smoothly along your lid. Just pull your lower lid down slightly so that it is taut and open your eye wide. Take the eyeliner pencil in the hand that you prefer to write with and draw one line from the inner to the outer corner. If you find it hard to do one long line try drawing lots of little lines that build up to one. As for your top lid, liquid eyeliner is probably best. You use it pretty much the same as pencil but it takes a lot of practice to get it right.

texangirl01 answered Saturday June 11 2005, 2:01 am:
a pencil is better!!! but of course its going to be harder since the tip of the pencil is soo hard...thats why you take like a lighter or something and you get the tip of it soft...but don't like melt it or anything...get it hot for like a second and then let it cool down a little bit and you should be good to go.....put your finger under neath your lower eye lash and pull down a little bit . then on that little ridge of skin yousee...thats where ya put the eye liner! hope i helped ya!
