Ouch, I know how you feel. One thing you can do is take Tylenol or Advil for the pain, that really helped me when I first got the chain put on when I had braces. Another thing you can for when you eat (if it hurts when you eat, it did for me) is eat foods that don't require much, if any, chewing, like soup or something. Also, eating ice cream really helps ease the pain! :D Hope this helps!

Saynotogymclass answered Wednesday June 8 2005, 5:37 pm:
The only thing to use for it is a pain killer! They suck I know, but the pain will eventually be gone and your teeth will be beautiful! Chains work really fast so don't be surprised if you see a major improvement in the morning! Of course, thats why they hurt so much!

*Smiles in pain to expose power chain* Yup, I know exactly what you mean. Nothing will make all the pain go away. Swallow a couple of Advil, within hours it should take the edge of the pain.

Karen answered Wednesday June 8 2005, 3:03 pm:
I used to have braces and I remember when I had the chain put on them. Just take a pain killer such as Advil, Tylenol, or Alieve and that will help get rid of the pain. The pain will go away in a few days, don't worry.

Napalm350z answered Wednesday June 8 2005, 2:06 pm:
Yes, i have been there before. The most you can do is take somthing to relieve the pain (ibuprophen, asprin, ect) and dont eat foods that are tough unless theyre chopped into small pieces.

I had those. Take some Advil for the pain. & Next time before you go, take something for pain. That way, it will already be kicking in by the time you are getting it done. & Other than that, I tried to sleep it off.

I've had them before. Take some advil, and just eat soft foods like jello and mashed potatoes. The pain will go down in a few days. Good luck! ~Lexi

Any pain reliever medicines will help. Don't braces suck!? I still have to have mine on for like another year.... it really bites.
But anything like ibuprofin (sp?) tylenol, motrin, asprin... etc. Just any pain relievers. Usually the orthodontists tell me medicines I can use to relieve the pain, but I assume hear either you forgot what yours said or they didn't say any. Have fun with braces :p.

Aw, I remember those. Just take some Aspirin, Ibuprofiin, or Motrin (that works best), and lay down and watch TV. That will help a lot. And if it's hurting your gums, put on some wax. I hope you feel better, good luck! ♥ Erin
