Name him something cute. Dont make it something that people will make fun of you for. You want to be proud of your puppy's name. If you want something kind of goofy you could name him Buttons. Something cute, you could name him Baby. If youre into sports you can name him something to do with your favorite team. Im from New England and my cousin named her dog Brady for Tom Brady on the Patriots. Im not very good with names, but I hope this gives you an idea. Good luck with your puppy, my mom wont let me have one. :(

If you can't think of a special name that you want to name your pet, then here are some basic guidelines to picking a name (with examples):
1. Don't pick one syllable names, because they sound too much like commands. "Spot" sounds an awful lot like "Sit" to a dog.
2. Pick a name that will go with your dog for the rest of his life. For example, don't name him "Baby" (I know you weren't thinking about that name, but it's an example) because as an adult Lab I don't think you'd like that name for him very much, and you'd be stuck with it for him.
3. Now down to good names to pick- Pick names with a soft "a" Sarah (again, an example...I wouldn't name my guy dog Sarah :-P) or a hard "o" like Bosco. Some examples-

Adolfo (Italian for wolf)
