Nails

Question Posted Monday May 23 2005, 12:42 am

I really want to get my fake nails taken off. Does anyone know how you can remove them other than chipping them off and going to the nail place (not an option as of this moment)?

Buy pure acetone. You can get it at Wal-Mart, Sally Beauty Supply, etc.

It costs a few dollars for the bottle, but you get a lot. If I remember correctly, you have to dip a paper towel in it, wrap the towel around your nails and then cover it with foil. It'll heat up (nothing too hot/painful) and after about 10 minutes, they should be flimsy enough to take off. If they're still hard after 10 minutes, soak them.

buy nail polish remover and put it into a glass or metal bowl. (it will ruin a plastic bowl). the higher the acetone concentration, the better it will work. then soak your fingernails in it for about 10-15 minutes. the nails should somewhat melt off/come off easily. if you are having to pull hard on the nails and it hurts, you havn't soaked them long enough (ive had this problem before). also, acetone seriously dries out your skin so be sure to moisturize with lotion afterwards!

You can go to the local drug store and get a container that allows you to just soke your nails off. All that's in there is nailpolish remover so you could do it at home with a bowl and a bottle of remover ($1) as aposed to the plastic thing that I described before($5ish).

Hope I helped!!

Well when I used to wear them they would come off all the time in the water like when I was swimming. But those were like wal-mart bought nails that I put on myself.
Usually if you soak your hands in warm water it'll make them much looser and hopefully easier to remove. If not, ask someone at a nail place or that uses fake nails all the time how they get them off.

Soak your hands in either finger nail polish remover of white alcohol to get it removed. You'll have to do this for some time but it'll work. Hope I was some help and have a nice day.

If think you must just have to run some hot water and soak them in it for a while once you have done that then soak them in some acetone or nail vansih remover, once you have done that hopefully they will slip right of. If not try moving them so they become loose, then they will come off. Hope this helped!!

If they aren't gels, then you can easily soak them in nail polish remover for 10-20 minutes and they should come right off. If they are gels, then you need to go to the nail salon to get them off. After you soak your nails, wash them really good with hot water and they should come off quite easily.

mysticpixie05 answered Monday May 23 2005, 9:38 am:
pour some nail polish remover in a bowl or in the sink and soak your hands/nails in it for a while. perferably acetone. acetone will wokr better but non actone will work also, just not as quickly. it will soften the acrylic and after a while of soaking it will become peelable.

if you dont want to do that, then try taking one of your other nails or a pin or some thing along those lines and go under neath the nail and try lifting them off. starting on the side at the bottom (near cuticles) of the nail is usually easiest. but if you find a way that you think is easier then go on right ahead and do it. (some people might think this is a painful way of taking them off, i how ever have never had any troubles doing it this way. it was just a suggestion though.)

Soaking your nails/fingers in acetone or just nail polish will make your nails easy to take off.
