Listen everyone has stage fright. Just go up there and have a fun time. Sounds crazy I know with all of the pressure and stuff, but it will really help you take all of it off of your mind. Have you tried running your lines with people in your cast? If not have them run lines with you out of school, trust me I know it really helps. Keep reading over it, You will do just fine.
Good luck!!

Practice Practice Practice! I suggest you practive liek in front of people... anyone... your friends... your family.. ANYONE lol. and dont let your drama teacher get to you. Just do what you have to do. I must say if your staying at the school till 8-9 o,clock your deff putting plenty of effort into it. Keep on keepin on!

Say it backwards. Like if the line was, " This is my cat.", say, "This is my cat, cat my is this, This is my cat."

Hey! I know exactly how you feel, not being able to memorize things. When I have to memorize things the first thing I do is re-write all of my lines on a seperate piece of paper. Just writing it again and again gets you to know the lines better. Also, maybe have someone help you practice...like give them the script and you read it to them. They can tell you if you are right or wrong and they can even help you if you get stuck on something. Also just try to relax on the stage. When you are nervous you are more likely to forget things. Write your toughest lines on your hands or on notecards so you can sneak a peek once in a while.

Good Luck
I hope this helps

write them on your hands/arms for a whole day. by writting them, you are putting them into you head and by having them litterally on you, you can review them. hope this works for you! (i have the same problem lol) <3

OrionsFire answered Tuesday May 3 2005, 3:27 pm:
The only way you are going to learn it is by going through it repeatedly. Even though you are after school until 8-9, you still need to practice at home because I am sure the majority of that time is not based around YOUR lines. When I was in drama, I used to remember what other people started their line with and ended with so I knew when my part was coming. It might also be nerves, so you could try reading in front of your parents and having them do the other lines.

Learn one line at a time as if it were a poem or a song. Say the first line over and over, until you know it, then add the second line. It is the same way that you learn the songs that you like. Don't you know all the words to the songs you like? Even the ones that aren't your favorite anymore, I'll bet you still remeber the words. And no, it is not easier because you like the song and don't like the drama script. The exercise of remembering is the same. You just think it's harder because you don't like the script. so forget than, and memorize the script. Just like it is a song that you want to learn.
