x3bEstOfmEx answered Monday May 2 2005, 10:33 pm: it doesnt have anything to do with hitting your nails if you hit your nail it wont be white it would be purple or the color of a bruise it would be white if you bent your nail backwards but thats not what u did because i have the same thing you have...they are just a lack of calcium and all you need to do is eat more dairy products and they should go away pretty soon

mysticpixie05 answered Monday May 2 2005, 9:24 am: its lack of minerals and such in your body. it is most likely the lack of calicum. but dont worry. alot of people have them little white spots. so just drink more milk and eat a little more dairy products. that should help. xoxoPrettyNPinkxoxo answered Sunday May 1 2005, 9:29 pm: I used to have this problem also. It is because a lack of zinc. Try to eat foods with zinc in them or try to buy some zinc vitamins at a health store or vitamin srote. If you try this, those white spots on your fingernails will eventually go away (atleast it did for me)!
youaskmeIanwser answered Sunday May 1 2005, 6:48 pm: Ok, normally when you have those it means your fingernails got bruised, and when the bruise appears its underneath you nail and it looks white untop of your nails. The only tip I can give you is to be more careful, and don't worry everyone gets them. [ youaskmeIanwser's advice column | Ask youaskmeIanwser A Question ]
Teza answered Sunday May 1 2005, 4:52 pm: If you dont eat healthy and stuff you get them. They wont stay on your nails forever but try to eat more calcium and vitamins. [ Teza's advice column | Ask Teza A Question ]
Karen answered Sunday May 1 2005, 4:41 pm: I don't know the actual name of these white spots but it just means you aren't getting enough vitamins/calcium in you. To prevent them, just drink more milk and eat cheese, yogurt, and so on but if you don't like milk and dairy products, just take a daily vitamin and that will help. xXxpinky615xXx answered Sunday May 1 2005, 4:11 pm: It just means you're not getting enough calcium. I don't know what they're called but all it means is that you aren't getting enough calcium. You can prevent it by increasing your calcium intake! Drink more milk. It builds strong bones and teeth and clear nails ; ) Good luck. FunnyCide answered Sunday May 1 2005, 4:10 pm: They're either Calcium deficiency spots or places where you slammed your hand in the door or drawer and bent the nail. I have those too, sometimes. If it's a lack of calcium, then you need to eat more calcium-rich foods (cheeses, yogurts, milk etc.) and take a daily vitamin. If it's a mark from slamming your hand in a drawer... stay away from drawers. Lol.
