A whole bunch of collage/high school people get together and get high. They just want to prove that they can do whatever they want no matter what they say. Its freakin sweet! just_ask_me answered Wednesday April 20 2005, 9:58 pm: It's the code in the police handbook or whatever they call it for a drug arrest. Code 420, ya know. So, on April 20th most highschool-college kids get high and show the police that they're 'cool' or they 'break the law' somehow. So, I'm pretty sure that's what it is. Half the college, I think, somethin like that. Or its the time everyone gets high, and today just happenes to be that time as well.
Michele answered Wednesday April 20 2005, 9:49 pm: OK, this is what my 14 year old step daughter told me oh, about 5 years ago, (and I was surprised to learn this) 420 refers to a time of day....the time of day when most people get high. Because at 4:20 most people are out of work, out of school, etc. etc. So you are on the right track.
