Lower tummy flab

Question Posted Wednesday April 20 2005, 9:24 pm

I work out everyday and do sit-ups everyday too. these crunches are really helping my upper abs but im not seeing any results in my lower ab area. Does anyone know of any really great workouts that are specifically for your lower abdominal region. If so please explain how to do those exercises. Thanks so much. Please only give advice if you know it actualy works.

lay on your back, with your hands flat on the ground on the sides of your body.have your legs next to eachother and lift them up when they are stretched out and bring your butt up, with your legs.

If you lie on your back with your legs off the floor and your knees bent, bring them towards your chest (but not fully). Then tense your abdominal muscles which will very slightly bring the lower part of your bum and your legs off the floor. This will really help with that lower ab flab!! if you dont understand what i mean by this exercise let me know!!

in seventeen magazine in the may issue (with drew barrymore on the cover) there's this awesome abb workout that i've been using. it says that if you do it 5 times a week you'll notice results in ten days, but i did it twice a day and noticed results in less than 4 days so it worked for me. You might be able to find the workout also at www.seventeen.com, i'm not sure if it's there but i would definitally check it out! Good Luck!
Always,
Carly

I do this in my dance class. You lay on the floor and put your right leg over your left leg. Then you get into the position like your going to do sit-ups and you touch your left elbow to your right knee. and you do vice-versa for the other leg. Hope this helps!!

Ok lower abs, try this I hope you have a work out partner. That will help. Lay on the floor on your back. Lift your legs up, feet together, high up in the air. Have your partner stand behind you. His/her feet at either side of your head. Have the person, push your feet, down towards the floor. You feet will travel in the direction of the floor. Resist.....but allow them to almost touch the floor. Then swing your feet back up and have your partner continue to push them towards the floor, and you continue to resist and bring them back up. You should feel a burn in your lower abdomen during this exercise. And keep it up!

PS, years ago, I used to own a gym with my ex-husband.

You can try this-

Lay flat out on your back.
Put your hands right by your side to hold you in place.
Lift your legs out 3-5 inches off the ground.
Now hold this for as long as you can.

Yes, it hurts a lot, but it really works your abs, eh!
My record is 3 minutes.
