So, what you have to do so that you're not so tempted to go back to old ways is, make a plan. Say that you're going to have a bag of m&m's(or whatever kinda candy is your favorite)and it's gonna last you the whole week. Eat a few each day. Or, you could plan a certain day of each week that is your pig-out day, where you can eat whatever you want to on that day, as long as you eat healthy for the rest of the week. Anywayz, I hope that all makes since and helps! Good Luck on your diet!

karenR answered Thursday April 14 2005, 7:59 pm: You can't keep your weight from fluctuating. A lot of it is water.
Cravings is a tough one. If you do make a mistake once in awhile it's not a big deal. Just don't give up because of it.
If you like yogurt eat about 3 of them a day. They keep ME from eating something else. They have a lot of flavors.
Throw some exercise in there, even if it's only walking. Take stairs instead of elevators. Play games that will keep you active..like yard games. [ karenR's advice column | Ask karenR A Question ]
shootingstar25xo answered Thursday April 14 2005, 4:00 pm: Okay, as long as you exercise (running is the best!) after you eat carbs or fatty foods, you should be okay. You're weight is different at all times of the day. You could be 80 in the morning, 82 at mid-day, 85 in the evening, and before you go to bed you could be like 79! It all depends on the amount of activity and the amount of food you have consumed before you step on the scale. There's no need to 'tough it out'. You can eat your fatty/full-of-carb foods, just make sure you don't eat TOO much, and that you exercise strenuously afterwards. hope i helped! Smurf_toucher answered Thursday April 14 2005, 11:53 am: Personally i hate diets. start working out really hard with some friends. You have to do it with friends though because that way youll feel pressure to impress them and youll push yourself, also when you work out you can still eat junk food but you'll crave healthy food because your body craves what you need. i believe this is good advice but then again tubby is as tubby does. Alin75 answered Wednesday April 13 2005, 11:58 pm: The answers people have given you regarding the cravings are good. There is not much to do other than finding as many healthy alternatives as possible. One thing I read about and also have heard people do (Sylvester Stallone apparently amongst others) is to take a day every week or ten days or so where they eat quite a few calories above their daily requirements. In the magazine it said that this helped ensure your body´s metabolism didnt go into famine mode (where it digests your muscles and so on). Just be careful and make sure you dont lapse back to eating junk on a regular basis. Oh, and regarding the fluctuations, unfortunately thats largely due to the water loss/gain. If it bothers you do what I did... weigh yourself once every few days. [ Alin75's advice column | Ask Alin75 A Question ]
luckylynn10 answered Wednesday April 13 2005, 11:50 pm: You cant get rid of a habit unless you replace it with something else, so every time you feel like eating those delectable candy bars go outside and play ur favorite sport, drink a glass of water, or anything like that. You'll be suprised on how well it works.
kleokriesel answered Wednesday April 13 2005, 11:30 pm: If you crave sweets, have some dried fruit. If you crave fried or grilled stuff, have some lightly oiled, grilled veggies.
Vegetarian Times Magazine is a lifesaver (I'm guessing you're not a vegetarian, but I still highly recommend it for their easy, healthy recipes and articles). [ kleokriesel's advice column | Ask kleokriesel A Question ]
Michele answered Wednesday April 13 2005, 10:46 pm: learn about nutrition. There are thousands of sites on the internet. When you find out how bad that junk food is for you, the least of your worries will be your weight. A poor diet full of empty calories for your whole life will cause heart attacks, colon cancer, diabetes, arthritis, osteoporosis, alzheimers, etc, etc, etc. Poor diet can cause Gastrointestinal distress and inflammation that can lead to "leaky gut syndrome" (Look that up!) which can lead to food allergies, MS, Fibromyalgia, Lupus, (just to mention a few) You are young, so your body is forgiving of the abuse you may be causing it from a poor diet, but when you are in your 40's, and realize that your lifetime eating habits have given you poor health, it will be too late to get it back. Start now.....
reading about all the bad stuff in that food will help you to avoid it. Good foods that you might still consider snacks are nuts, and dried fruit, granola, health bars. Why not start the whole family on better eating habits, so that your parents won't buy those empty calorie snacks. Anyway, what is say is true, just look it up
Hope this helps.
EGCiviccoupe answered Wednesday April 13 2005, 10:42 pm: I don't know how to stress this enough.
EXERCISE! Its fun, gives you more energy and you loose weight.
Try making it so that there isn't any junk food in your house. Stock it full of fruit and maybe those health bars you have twice a day or something.
WATER! Drink water, I know that it may sound stupid but I drink so much water its insane, I am peeing all day long and it gives me so much energy and I can't get enough of it.. Now that I think of it I am going to get some now
