Im 14/Female and i havnt had my period yet. But i discharge...its heavy (been heavy) since maybe october. Not all the time though. Is it normal for it to be yellowish white? Because i will be in school sometimes and i will discharge and i will always look down to see if i had my period and i dont but its scary. When i do get my period and if im in school will it just come out when it wants to (like people could see it) that would be embarresing! Please Help Ladies! i rate high and give feedback!!!! Thank U <3
Aunty_Zozie answered Tuesday April 12 2005, 11:54 am: I know your probably sick of hearing this, but its completely normal! Some people don' start until they get to 16 - 17, so you've got plenty of time. When it comes, it won't suddently gush out of you so everyone can see it, it'll almost definately be a light flow and you'll notice pretty quickly. In the meantime, just make sure you carry towels or tampons around with you in case you do start. If you start getting really bad stomach pains, tearful or the discharge gets heavier, then you know i'll happen soon. Also, when you DO start, your period will be irregular for 2 years, in other words it won't suddenly start coming on the 17th of every month no fail. Another tip is (when the discharge gets heavier) just to wear pantiliners (like v.thin towels) in your knickers just in case. Just make sure you always have some towels or tampons with you just in case your caught off guard, but in the meantime, don' worry ! there won't suddenly be a flood down there! oxoxLindseyxoxo answered Monday April 11 2005, 8:56 pm: It's normal to have discharge before your period! And when you first start its not going to pour out at once okay?! It comes out slow and light at first. But if your really scared that you will leak then just start wearing a panty liner or right when you feel yourself "discharge" then go to the bathroom. If you get there in time it wont leak...It actually takes a while for it to go through your panties and your pants for the whole world to see. Especially when its your first time. Right when you start just go to the nurse and ask for a pad. Don't be embarresed! Or if you have a dispenser in your School bathroom then just make sure you have spare change. OR just ask a friend! Hope i could help!

SurpriseYourself answered Monday April 11 2005, 7:35 pm: i would say that its coming, start wearing and carrying pads and make sure to keep a jacket in your locker, if you leak at school and you can see it through your pants then youll want the jacket to tie around your waist and cover it up,and when you start make sure you always have enough pads and go to the restroom often or else youll be more likely to leak [ SurpriseYourself's advice column | Ask SurpriseYourself A Question ]

mrs_radcliffe answered Sunday April 10 2005, 2:40 pm: Hi usually girls have discharge for about 1-2 years before attually starting there period sometimes when its heavy and thick, its a sing that your going to start soon. Dont worry about it, just have a pad in your bag so if you start at school your ready for it, The first period sometimes for girls is awful its heavy and you feel like shit, but everyone has a different effect. Most girls when they start the period its heavy for the first month and then it gets lighter as you go alone, Some girls can have it bad and its awful for them, if its so bad the end up having to be put on the pill its that heavy. Yes it would be a bit embarresing, i came on at school one mouth but your friends will all ways help you out so dont worry to much.

darkconfessions answered Sunday April 10 2005, 1:27 pm: You'll get your period soon. Try wearing a panty liner for the discharge. They are very thin, can't be seen easily. Plus if you wear the panty liner, if you get your period at school it won't be seen and you will just be able to either ask a friend go to your school nurse for a pad or tampon. xOtWiXi answered Sunday April 10 2005, 1:19 pm: The discharge sometimes comes before you get your first period. Yes, the color is normal, although usually it is more like clear. Having discharge sometimes makes you feel like you have your period, but trust me, when you get your period, you just KNOW, yeah it sounds silly, but believe me, it's happened to me before. To ease the discomfort of the discharge, try wearing a thin pantyliner [super comfortable, you won't even know you're wearing it, I'd recommend Always Thin and Long with wings, kind of like a light pad or Always long pantiliners], and then if you do get your period one day, it will protect your pants for a bit until you can get to the bathroom. If you need anything else- just message me! Hope I've Helped! ♥ [ xOtWiXi's advice column | Ask xOtWiXi A Question ]
rainbowcherrie answered Sunday April 10 2005, 12:48 pm: Discharge is generally yellowish white but it may change colour or consistency around the time you start your period.
When you first get your period I promise you, it's not like Niagra Falls or anything. It will come out gradually and it certainly wont be visible to others-unless you are wearing pale coloured underwear and trousers (pants if you're American.)
If you are still worried then I suggest you start using pantyliners. These are a bit like sanitary towels only much thinner and they sit in your underwear like a second layer. You have to change them every four to six hours and they will basically absorb discharge and make you feel fresher. They will also help when you first get your period because instead of ruining your underwear, the flow will be absorbed. [ rainbowcherrie's advice column | Ask rainbowcherrie A Question ]
Karen answered Sunday April 10 2005, 12:45 pm: Yes, it's normal for your discharge to be yellowish/white and heavy. Having heavy discharge is a sign that your period is coming. When you get your period, the blood may be a light brown and it won't come out that much (sorry if that grosses you out) and from now on, you should probably not wear tan or khaki pants/jeans because when you get your period, you may leak. If you do get your period in school, your period will just come out and it won't pour out, don't worry. Try wearing panty liners because then the blood won't go through your underwear/thong. therocketsummer answered Sunday April 10 2005, 12:40 pm: Yes it's very normal to not have it yet, don't worry. All girl's bodies are different and will start at different times. Your discharge is going to be heavy for maybe a month or two more then you might start. Starting carrying things in your purse so just in case. ♥ [ therocketsummer's advice column | Ask therocketsummer A Question ]
