Additional info, added Tuesday April 5 2005, 1:06 pm: i weight 110-115 lbs and am 5'7 if that matters.......
EDIT: sorry it's 2-3 inches of fat, not 4. if that makes a difference =\... Want to answer more questions in the Health & Fitness category? all4u answered Wednesday April 6 2005, 8:59 pm: Hi there,
5'7 and 115 pounds ... girl you definatley have nothing to worry about. In fact I would think you even have room to gain some meat on those bones. Just an idea ... I am 5'5 and weigh 115 pounds and am even still on the lower side of average!
As females we all seem to base our self worth on the size of our stomach. I don't think any of us escapes this to a lesser or greater extent. This creates much unhappiness, for we're constantly unhappy with our self image. Pick out 50 girls from your school year book, and I gaurantee you 49 of them will admit to wishing something different about themselves. Knowing this, do you see the inefficiencies of your friends ... probably not, your probably focused on what they bring to the relationship, the content they add to your life ... and I promise you, you give this back to your friends and family. I too went through a period of insecurity and still get insecure every now and then. Hey even J Lo and Angelina Joline have their insecurities ... the difference is, they've opted for a job where they have to constantly monitor their appearance so that they appeal to their audience. I bet you, this causes them much stress on a personal level. Is life worth that? I don't think so. Take a moment and think of all the things that truly do make you happy? Friends, writing, sports, water, travel, reading ... whatever it may be, schedule these activities in on a daily basis and prioritize them as importantly as you do your homework (or your current boyfriend) ... you'll find your quality of life increasing. When your happy, it shows and shines more than does physical appearance.
Another trick I use ... I hate presentations and when I was in university there were a tonne of them!!!! If I was to go up midway through the class, I'd see how others were just as nervous as I ... if you really observe you can notice this ... and to a certain extent, this made me feel better. Because yes, I wasn't the only one nervous!!!!!!! Then I would pay attention to what worked for the ones who did an absolutely great job and try to emulate (pretend your that person just for the five to twenty minutes your onstage whether it be for a presentation, an interview, or a social situation your afraid of).
You have to believe in yourself, you really do. If you start now it will come with time. It won't happen over night, but trust me, self confidence does come with experience and time!
Sorry I went of on a tangent of self image, but I must address your regret about eating ...Please do not regret eating ... in fact eating is one of the joys of living ... look forward to eating ... eat what you enjoy but in moderation and keep physical activity part of your life even if it's just walking, swimming, skiing, rollerskatting, whatever it is you really enjoy (don't go to the gym if it doesn't interest you! Doesn't last, trust me!)
All in all, I honestly do not think you have to worry being fat, but I do worry that your obsessed about it so please if I can do anything else to help, don't hesitate to e-mail me ... aly_boschee@yahoo.com.

Nokomis answered Tuesday April 5 2005, 4:44 pm: You are in no way fat!!! After you eat you could try going for a walk to get your mind off of it but there is no reason for you to even think you are chubby. Trust me you are probably thin if you 115lbs and 5'7". If there are any specific questions you'd like to ask, just drop one in my inbox.
FunnyCide answered Tuesday April 5 2005, 2:13 pm: Ok, sweetheart! That's not fat! I am almost five feet tall (I'm 3/4 on an inch too short..) and I weigh probably.. 20 pounds less than what you're saying you weigh. Ok, you're not fat! I'm not either. You sound like you're about to have (or are in the first stages) of an eating disorder - anorexia.
Most girls don't know this, but women naturally have more body fat than guys do! God made us this way. I don't understand it, but I know it comes in handy when swimming in really cold water. (ha ha)
Another thing that most girls don't know - if you don't eat breakfast within two hours of getting up, your sugar level drops so low that you crave food all day! So, eat breakfast, don't be ashamed! Even something like a banana will do the job. A bowl of healthy cereal is good too. But, a balanced breakfast consisting of wheat, dairy, protein, and a fruit is the healthiest thing for you. But, if you're like me, you don't have time to eat all that every morning! So, if you have time to eat a peice of toast, a handful of grapes and down eight ounces of milk, you're good to go. If you like peanut butter, but that on the toast and then you've covered the basic food groups!
When you're eating lunch, maybe try to eat a low fat turkey sandwich on wheat bread. (though, if you don't like lunch meat, it doesn't work) A peanut butter and preserves sandwich on wheat bread is very healthy too. If you notice, I said preserves. This is because jelly has so much saturated fat and sugar that it's not healthy at all! Drink milk at lunch if possible, but water is a good alternitive.
Eat a balanced supper of protein, dairy, veggies, fruit, and wheat. If you'd like, eat a small portion of dessert too. Try not to eat close to bed time, this makes it harder for you to sleep.
Ok, so now we've got eating right covered, but what about exercise? This is a key part too. If you walk a mile a day, you'll feel better about yourself. As you get stronger, you can jog that mile, run it, and add miles to it. But never, I repeat NEVER exercise with out stretching properly. I know it's a pain, but it's worth it. It hurts alot worse if you don't stretch!
Sleep. If you don't get enough sleep your body doesn't work right. For a teenager, 9-12 hours of sleep is good. Sleep on a firm mattress (your back might hurt otherwise) in a dark room with air circulating. Many people recommend sleeping with the door closed because this lowers the chance of a fire killing you. If you do sleep with the door closed, turn on the fan or open a window so there is air circulating.
Now, we've got healthy eating, sleeping, and exercising habits covered, now self esteem. You'll feel better about yourself when you're exercising and getting enough sleep. Wear clothes that fit your body, not too tight - that will make you self conscious. Write a list of things that are nice about yourself - no negative things allowed! Here's an example:
poopiepantsgirly answered Tuesday April 5 2005, 1:04 pm: I think that your mind thinks that you are fat.But your really not cause there likes millions og gurls out there that want to weigh what you weigh. It would be better if you exercised more like at least 3 times a week like you might want to go jogging or just plain walking. You could also try a healthy eating diet were you can eat what you want but make sure its something low in calories. [ poopiepantsgirly's advice column | Ask poopiepantsgirly A Question ]
mrs_radcliffe answered Tuesday April 5 2005, 12:58 pm: Your not fat! where did you get that idea from. Look around at different people when you go out and see that people are all different and no one is the same shape, Just be proud of who you are and what you look like, Dont let anyone tell you other wise.
lilangeldore answered Tuesday April 5 2005, 12:48 pm: you are not fat. if you want to loose that stomach though you can simply do crunches and just work it all off. it will take some time but it is well worth it. dont stop eating though cause when you do eat your body takes that food and automatically turns it into fat. Just eat smaller portions and work out. But your not fat so dont think that. YOu are fine just how you are. ANd not to mention that God made you that way. Everyone is different.
