But my hands in the winter they will like turn colors...like in gym they will trun purple and red and stuff. And if you squeeze them they will turn red! Is this normal...my one friend said it could be a blood clot! Help me
JadedinNowhere answered Monday April 4 2005, 6:36 pm: tell your friend to shut the hell up. for starters. My arms and hands are just the same way.. you can see my veins and stuff in the winter and my thumbpads sorta turn purplish redish sometimes if I get really cold.. it's never posed a problem for me, so I'd suppose it's normal.. gessyka answered Monday April 4 2005, 4:06 pm: Uh...I doubt it's a blood clot unless there's symptoms. I know some people like that.. who are really thin and the colors change on their hands kinda like that. I mean it's completely normal, it's not bad. Don't worry. If you think it's something to be worried about though, then you should tell one of your parents.
orphans answered Monday April 4 2005, 2:15 pm: Don't listen to your brain dead friend. It's not a blood clot. It's perfectly normal. Nothing's wrong with you. And as for the being very skinny and eating loads, feel lucky to be naturally skinny, stock up on your food before you have to starve yourself for the body you want. By the way, don't starve yourself. [ orphans's advice column | Ask orphans A Question ]
karenR answered Saturday April 2 2005, 1:28 am: LOL, you don't have a blood clot. If they turn almost black worry about it.
It is really very normal. People are diffrent.
Show your friend this test...it will show you have blood flowing in your hands.
Kinda pinch your fingernail....it will turn white. When you let go, it turns pink again. This is called capillary refill, If all is well it turns back to pink almost quicker than you can see it. So, if you get worried just do that test.
By the way,If you have nail polish on you can't see it.:) [ karenR's advice column | Ask karenR A Question ]
ask_elmo answered Friday April 1 2005, 9:44 pm: Me, being a thin person myself, know exactly how you feel. My hands and feet do that too, when it is cold. Especially in the winter. The only difference is that when I squeeze mine, they turn more of a very light tan/white color. So I'm not sure about that. But don't worry about them turning red and sort of purple...it's just because you don't have a lot of fat between your blood vessels and the outside layer of your skin. Hope I helped!

SarahMarie123 answered Friday April 1 2005, 9:02 pm: yeah.. its perfectly normal.. you probably just have like a fast matablism ((cant spell)) which is why you are so skinny, and it is totally normal for your hands to turn red.. like sometimes you can see like lines that look like blood vessels.. i'm not so sure about purple.. so maybe you should like ask a parent about that.. but besides taht its normal [ SarahMarie123's advice column | Ask SarahMarie123 A Question ]

hUmmERluvr30 answered Friday April 1 2005, 8:38 pm: i think it's normal..you probably just have a high matabilism..so your body is always using up the food you eat..so it doesnt go any where..thats exactally like me..so dont worry about it...you'll be fine..butttttttt if it gets worse..and maybe you start to ache or soimething tell your parents and fgo to the docters...or..tell your parents soon and they'll probably know whats up..okay..hope that some what helped you!
