Song ideas
I'm a song-writer, guitarist, and vocalist in a Christian band, and I want some help getting subject matter for some songs, we really need something new and I'm running out of any good ideas. Anybody got anything that would be worth singing about in a southern-rock/acoustic style of music?

Maybe give some free advice about: Music?
try writing some secular stuff. something you wouldn't normally write about. maybe you can try both sides of the coin and write about something from a christian perspective that isn't talked about much, like sex, violence and politics. what is the christian perspective on those subjects? what are your thoughts on them? think about what's currently bugging you lately, and write about your feelings.

a cool idea, i think, would be the different shades of rain. maybe im just totally crazy to think about it...but there are so many types of rain. like theres thunder storms, drizzles, rain when its sunny...so yeah. lol hope i helped :)

7 deadly sins is always a cool topic. if youre talking about the guitar parts, finger picking makes things sound really good. that or cover freebird by lynyrd skynyrd.

HEY !!>>>> DOWN HERE !! I got somthing that might help! Ok this requires you to go pick up an album, but hey i promise this will help! I to am a sonwriter/singer.. Totally solo though. Anyways, this band will open your ears and your minds up to a new way of writing, singing etc. They sing about a lot, i mean a lot of diffrent things. And it must be hard as a religious band to find new things to sing about. This band is entirely positive, so it shouldn't hurt anyones sensebilities.. OK .

I dont know how easy it would be to write, but why dont you try to colaborate with your band members and write a song about the recent tragedy at Lakewood high school and other teen age issues that are happening in the world and how we as christian teens should band together and help to at least try and influence someones decisions in a positve way

im not any good at playing any instraments, but i do write songs... my suggestions to you are the following; songs about songs about working out- pushing yourself to the limits, love and romance, and anything that seems small in your life, but you couldnt do without, (a very dumb example....) but water, the purity of it, the cleansing of it, you can write about somthing small and make it seem big
now i have a question for you, i love rock, i wanted to know if you could maybe put as an aditional information.... what is your band name? i would like to listen to you guys, you sound pretty good

Whoa, a christian band out of stuff to write songs about? Have you tried God? What about Jesus? Hrmmm what else... you could write about how much you hate muslims but you've probably already covered that one too.
If you really want to do something new and exciting you could write songs about girls masturbating and going to hell. Or about sluts getting pregnant and going to hell. As long as you have someone going to hell, it'll be worth listening to.

You could sing about moral issues or things going on in the world today. Or you could do somthing like what Weird Al does and just make fun of other people's music. Another thing would be making songs from Bible verses. Or you could make songs about relationships...the only thing about that is everyone does it and it does get annoying after a while; just look at Relient K and Hawk Nelson.
