How do I get my hair to become straight and stay like that? It's a little wavy right now. What kind of products should I use? My hair is kind of thick too.

HELP4U247 answered Sunday March 27 2005, 9:00 pm: My hair is naturally curly/wavy. Shower at night and go to bed with wet hair. ( Letting it dry naturally will protect your hair from extra heat damage) In the morning straighten it (Type of straightener is key ceramic ones are better for your hair and work best. Try a Chi, Chi Turbo,Rusk, or superstar.) I have a Chi turbo and i love it. Also if your hair is thick you may want to get a wider blade. ( 2 inch is a great size!) Straighten your hair in layers, start from the bottom and work your way through. After each Layer Spray down with THERMASILK hairspray. It locks in the heat, smells good, and its hold last a long time, and it doesnt feel like its hairsprayed. Brush threw your hair after you spray it. Also, you may want to try AUSSIE 12 hour de-humitity Spray which will prevent the humitity from causing your hair to curl up which is great for days at the beach or humid places. Also...occasionally(Its really bad for your hair) But if your going camping and wont be able to wash your hair for a while or need it to stay straight An iorn works really well. Get a friend to iorn your hair with the iorn on steamer to it wony fry you hair. Its really bad for you hair and i dont reccomend it but ive done it once and it works really well!

sshelbyy answered Friday March 25 2005, 11:58 am: same here! first off, the next time you get your hair cut, ask if they can thin it. Also you should buy a straightening spritz. I use MATRIX brand. Also, if you really care about your hair, you should save up your money and invest in a CHI straightener. <p>An alternative to that stuff is to get your hair professionally straightened. My sister got hers done like 5 days ago, and it took 2 hours, and now evertime she takes a shower, its stick straight when it dries. It costs about 100-400 bucks. Get the THERMAL kind. good luck! xxASKAWAYxx answered Friday March 25 2005, 11:47 am: Well i have thick curly hair. I know it seems impossible but you cant make it very strait. Buy a CHI (like 120) if thats too expensive try a wiggo. Try blowdrying your hair after you wash it . then buy a product called AGUAGE and spray it on every section before flatironing. After you finished your whole hair then use a product called hair toys . Use that on all of ya hair but remember a little goes a long way.
PS dont buy crappy walmart or drugstore straitners they suck

Karen answered Wednesday March 23 2005, 2:59 pm: If you want your hair to stay straight, you can get a Japenese perm that will make your hair straight. That's the only way that will make your hair straight. To keep your hair straight for a day or two, I suggest that you buy a CHI or a flat iron. They are pretty pricey but work great and you can get them for a reduced price and Sally's Beauty Supplies. Any products by Paul Mitchell will help keep your hair straight. "Straight Works" is great.

vbkilla answered Wednesday March 23 2005, 11:53 am: Remington wet to straight straightner! it's made to straighten "hard to straighten" hair types, like yours. it works great! and it keeps your hair straight untill you wash your hair. I definate recomend it! only about 30$ too!
_eMiLy answered Wednesday March 23 2005, 9:52 am: You can go to a salon and have them straighten it chemicly, it stays for ages and you don't have to worry about it going wavy for a while. I think it's a bit bad for your hair (but so is straightening your hair with the straightners all the time so yeah) if not you can find a shampoo and/or a cream/liquid kinda thing that'll keep it straighter for a bit longer than normal after you straighten it I'm not 100% on which one cause there's more than one but if you ask at your local drug store or whatever they should have one.
