doctor

Question Posted Friday March 18 2005, 1:11 pm

When you go to the doctor just to get meds. for the flu or something...do they still weigh you? I know they do when you go in for a physical or a check-up but what if you just have the flu?

They weighed me when I went in to see what I had becuase I was just so sick! It turned out I had the stomach flu. But I think they do still weigh you.

Ehh it depends. If you haven't been to the doctor's in a while, I find they will measure your height and then weigh you. So, unless you were just there last week, they're probably going to weigh you.

Usually when you go to the doctor to get a tenus, flu, etc shot, they usually weigh you, the whole check up thing so they can log it and see maybe if your sickness was due to physical fitness. <3 EJ

Yes you have to be weighted when you got to the doctors. You can take a couple of days of school and just relax at home until you feel better. But some times flu can be really bad if the doctor surgests the flu jab that might be worth thinking about.

FunnyCide answered Friday March 18 2005, 1:29 pm:
The doctor weighed me when I went, but that was because I had been losing weight because I was sick. I had the flu and pneumonia, and I had lost about seven pounds in a week... and it's not good for your body to lose that much that fast. They probably will weigh you if you go in just for the flu because they want to make sure you're not losing too much weight from being sick. They may not.. and it may be case-variable.. but they probably will. It'll be ok.. it's not that bad... at least they don't make you take off your clothes.. *shudders* Though, if you don't like taking off your clothes.. beware, they might make you do that. When I had croup I had to take off my shirt and wear this nice little paper thing.. but when I had the flu and pneumonia the doctor let me keep all of my clothes. (of course, I saw two different doctors, and that could be why..) You'll be fine.

Not unless you ask them to!
If you go with flu, a virus etc etc then they may take your blood pressure but I've only ever had my weight taken when I'm haveing my 6 monthly check-up.
