SilentTears answered Tuesday March 15 2005, 6:38 pm: maybe you should cut down on using it.one of my friend used that stuff at one point in time and the same thing happened to her i told her the same thing and it worked for her the dryness and redness started going away little by little you just need to give it time.so maybe not use it for a day or two then use it again and maybe it will help you also.

The red should go down in about a month once your skin gets used to the cleaner. mean while to cover up the red buy a powder base that is made from corn starch. Any other base bleaches your face and reclogs the pores.
Good Luck you just have to have patients. [ blondedramaqueen91's advice column | Ask blondedramaqueen91 A Question ]
sunkistsarah answered Monday March 14 2005, 10:23 pm: I use proactiv and sometimes it does make my face dry. When that happens, i use less of the #3 bottle. But it should not be making it very red. You may be allergic to this product. (i am allergic to many chemicals in make-up and face products so i have to be very careful about these things but i have never had a problem with proactiv)
You may want to see a dermatoligist if it doesn't go away.

You probably have sensitive skin. Now, if you weren't aware of this already, some people's skin changes. Why? Not too sure, maybe because of hormones or weather. Anyways, the point is that Proactiv may be too harsh on your skin. If it's been two weeks, and you still have that same problem, you need to switch to something that won't be as tough on your face. Since your face is dry, pick up a skin care routine that will be soft enough to handle on your face, while taking care of the problem areas. And that will fix it without having that redness to it. Mosturize your face everyday. Especially if you are a teenager. It really does help. And use an SPF of 15.
If they give you a phone number on Proactiv for help, call them and ask them what's going on if you think it's some chemical in the product. I'm not exactly sure what they put in their products. But I think it's time for you to stop using that if it causes your skin to do that. If you ever feel a stinging or burning feeling on your face, when there shouldn't be you probably have very fair and sensitive skin, unless you're reacting to something in the product.
