When most people say "sugar" they think of the processed sugar cane. "Sugar" can also refer to any simple carb. Eating fresh fruit gives you none of the former, but quite a bit of the latter.
Diabetes is when your body has issues with sugar intake. Insulin and blood sugar need to stay in a certain balance. If you have issues regulating your insulin, you need to be very careful with your sugar intake. In this case, I'm referring to the second, broader definition of sugar. If you have low blood sugar, it's not a good idea to have a lot of sugar, because you will make yourself sick. Also, you shouldn't eat a lot of pure sugar, because someday you will probably get blood sugar problems if you don't already have them. But most of our food has sugar in it...in fact, all of it does. There are different kinds of sugars. So it's kind of hard to avoid. Just don't drink huge barrels of sugar and you should be good. [ gakkuhideto's advice column | Ask gakkuhideto A Question ]
