WOW 13! you shouldnt be treated like that..especially at 13! What you could do is tell a family member about this...when i talked to my aunt about her gettting mad at me because of somtheing small i would call her an she would talk me through it and it'd be ok after a while. tell them about this game and maybe they will take it or hide it or consult your dad and say a few things about how hes been acting differnt. family will always be there for you. stick to this you will get through! good luck!:) ill pray for you :) *amanda*

Hi I am 13 too and my dad did something like that once. He threatened to break my arm if I didn't get off of the phone. Leave a bottle of water that's open on the x box or cut a wire. I know that this is risky, but you have to stop your dad from playing halo, and that seems like a good way to do it

ok. this is really really tough for you as i can see. while your dad is not in the room, even if hes just going to thee bathroom take his game and hide it later take it into your room and brake it in half!this will be the end of his obsession. and if he buys a new game then do the same thing till he realizes tht he just should stop wasting his money on these stupid games. hope i helped.

well your dad right now is probley thinking he is old. if i was you i while he was sleeping take halo 2 and your x box live and through it away or do something with it. he may go buy another one, but he won't get it that way. so like tape record him before you take the xbox and after and then show it to him.

Ah, yes. The computer obbessed parent. Been there, done that.

Hopefully this will be a "phase". In the meanwhile, talk to your Mom, that should help.

maybe your dad is going through a mid-life crisis...incase you didn't know what a mid-life crisis is i'll explain it to you a mid-life crisis is where people who aren't young any more feel that they need to do more daring and extreme stunts to prove that they aren't an old geezer ( not sayin your dad's a geezer) but people get over with it quickly

gnosis answered Tuesday February 8 2005, 5:54 pm:
That's really odd, but a lot of times when people become "obsessed" (for lack of better word) with someone not anchored in reality they go a little crazy. When people get really into video games, books, or even online forums and start to focus their life around it they can act really strange. I recommend talking to another adult that you trust, like your mom (or therapist, if you have one), or your school social worker, if you have one. Tell them that your dad called you a "bitch" and that he threatened to beat you. It might seem awkward to involve outside people right now but ultimately it will better the situation.

I dont know exactly what HALO is i think its like a gun type of game like fighting. I would pretend it didnt bother you till like next mon. Then have it "Secretly" "magically" dissapear if you know what i mean. Just take it away and claim he misplaced it. I would talk to your mom about this to. I think i can get how it might effect but not dramatically change him it is a violent type of game so that might have impact on him. -trix
