blondie75 answered Saturday February 19 2005, 5:17 am: aww im so srry! this is a while after the question so i don't know if you'll see it but, anyways. go to a new dermatologist...! Why won't your doctor let you go on Accutane? Does he/she not put anyone on it at all or is there a specific reason? You usually have to be atleast 14, but you probably are. Another reason is because if you don't have bad enough acne they won't put you on it but from what you said it sounds like you do. hmm. also you don't HAVE to go on birth control. some doctors will let you get "counseled" by your regular doctor to not get pregnant. then before you get your first prescription you take a pregnancy test. and before you get your pills for the month you have to get blood drawn to make sure everythings ok. If you can't get accutane there are some prescription creams (I don't know if you've already tried them)like retin a, tazorac, clindagel, differin, benzaclin just to name a few. there are other pills for acne that aren't even close to as serious as accutane like doxycyclene and tetracyclene. that stuffff might help..but you might have already tried it. well anyways yeah good luck trying to get accutane.. and i realllllly hope your skin gets clear soon!!!! azngemini answered Sunday February 13 2005, 10:39 am: i use proactiv, n it's helped. it doesnt work for everyone though. you could also try chemical peels or things like that, but they're like really expensive. just to tell you, clean & clear does NOT work at all. dont buy any acne medication from there.
you could also try buying anti-acne pills. they sell them at drugstores, like target. they're like 20 bucks, but i'm not sure if they work.
there was this guy in tai wan like a couple of years ago. he was 19, n he had alotta acne. he suffered from acne for YEARS. he killed himself.
Zoinatrobe answered Friday February 11 2005, 12:06 pm: Try a different percription- proactive or whatever your dermatologist recomends. I am not an expert at medicine. However, I can recond precautions- when washing your face, never wash it with soap, only water. It would be better if you brought a facial cleanser. I can recomend clean and clear cleanser. Avoid touching your face, and NEVER EVER squeeze spots. This can cause scars that would remain there for possibly your whole life. If you wear make-up avoid wearing anything that could block your pores- i.e blusher, powder, e.c.t.
When you look at yourself in the mirror, try to see your face beyond the acne. Every morning when you see yourself in the mirror, complement yourself- say things like "You are beautiful" or simply "cool!". It really does make you feel more confident throughout the day and does wonders to your self esteem.
Hope I helped, send me a question if you need any more advice. Good luck,

schlichtinator answered Monday February 7 2005, 8:13 pm: Accutane may be the best stuff ever. I had severe, and I mean, maybe the worst acne ever. I have none now, and I've been on the stuff for a little less than 3 months. There is still some scarring and discoloration that needs to clear up, but other than that I'm free.
friends answered Monday February 7 2005, 5:02 pm: Acne is bad. And even though you didnt want me to say it. im going too. it will eventually go away. About by the time your 18 it will fully have gone away. You should ask your dermotoligest to switch your perscriptions and try that out for about four months, if you dont see any improvement switch again until you find something that works for you. Going tanning also helps to clear acne. And lemon Juice. [ friends's advice column | Ask friends A Question ]
Karen answered Monday February 7 2005, 3:43 pm: I sort of went through what you are going through right now. My face wasn't the best and my dermatologist wouldn't prescribed me on anything. I would definitely suggest buying and using Proactiv. Proactive won't get rid of your acne but it will clean up your skin. Differin, Accutain, etc. are creams or pills that do get rid of acne. (That's what my dermatologist told me) You will see a difference in just a few weeks by using Proactive. You will also gain confidence and your self esteem will boost up. Hope I helped :)

MissEmmyBoo answered Sunday February 6 2005, 10:36 pm: Well, if it's that bad, you need a new dermo. One that will subscribe Accutane, because it really works! I know exatly how you feel, but I went on Accutane, and it works for real! So just go to a new dermotologist!
*Hope I helped!*

mysticpixie05 answered Sunday February 6 2005, 9:21 pm: try proactive. alot of people have used it and have noticed a major difference. it is a little on the pricey side, but definately worth it. if the price is a problem for you, then try and go with a cleanser and acne solution from neutrogena. they ahve some pretty good products out there on the market to choose from. they also work really well. there are some other brands that you can pick up. it is just a matter of which one you like best and which one will work the best on your skin. so if you try and neither of the two brand i have named work out for ypu, then just try a different brand. it may take some time to find the right one for your skin, but when you do, it will totally be worth it. KaTiE_LyNn answered Sunday February 6 2005, 9:21 pm: wash your face every morning and every night. make sure you wash your face before you put make`up on. remove your make`up as soon as you can. i suggest that after you wash your face at night, you use alcohol pads. proactiv works really good and if your parents took you to a dermatologist they would probably buy it for you. and another thing.. wash your face with a different cleanser every time because if you use the same thing your skin will stop reacting to it. hope ya clear up.

FrEe2bMe answered Sunday February 6 2005, 9:18 pm: I so know how you feel. Don't feel alone. There are people that suffer from acne all over. Here are some medications for you to suggest to yor dermatoligist if you haven't already tried them:
-Differin (cream or pill)
-Aveeta
-Phinacea
-An Amoxcycillin pill
-Sulfer pills
You may want to use a combination of them like cream and pills. These things take time. I know it sucks, but it will phase out eventually.
If none of hat works, Proactive may work for you. You have probably seen it on the infomercials. See proactive.com for more info.
Make sure you always wash your face after your day is doneto get all make up off. Try using a cleanser like SeaBreeze too.
If none of those work, let me know, I know some other medications too.
