I'm a breakfast, lunch, dinner type of girl. I try not snack inbetween, but I find that many times, after lunch, a few hours before dinner, I am SO hungry...does anyone have some really nutritious snacking ideas?
AskCat answered Saturday January 22 2005, 11:01 pm: If you're eating a healthy breakfast, lunch and dinner, then you should snack on some junk food once in a while. You need to shock your system so that it won't get used to healthy food and your metabolic activity will speed up a bit once more. [ AskCat's advice column | Ask AskCat A Question ]

uacctk14 answered Saturday January 22 2005, 9:10 pm: you can eat granola bars, carrot sticks, dried fruits like bannanas, cranberries, and you can eat anything that is a fruit and vegetable and you can occasionally have some cereal like the stuff that doesn't have that much sugar in it [ uacctk14's advice column | Ask uacctk14 A Question ]
xHeartxOfxGoldx answered Saturday January 22 2005, 9:01 pm: Fruits and Veggies, but may I add that when some people eat fruits they buy canned fruits.. and not all of those are good for you. Indeed there are some good ones.. but if you buy caned peaches for instance, if they are in thick syrup, all of the sudden its no longer good for you. Also if you are to eat carrot sticks and prefer dressing, try to stick to low fat, or it will take the healthy right out of healthy snacking. Its kind of like when your eating a chocolate covered strawberry, most people seem to thing that since theres a strawberry its not bad for you, but the chocolate will overpower it. Thats basically the same with any food, the thing that seems to be bad for you over powers things, unfortunately thats how we have to live lol.
But if you feel hungary inbetween meals, don't even worry about it. By keeping a little something in your stomach at all times, it keeps your body on a good cycle, and it makes your metabolism faster. Your actually supposed to have light snakcks every 2 hours, so your body keeps functioning right. And if you haven't had weight problems in the past, then i wouldn't worry to much if I were you. Just continue making the right eating choices and you should be fine. [ xHeartxOfxGoldx's advice column | Ask xHeartxOfxGoldx A Question ]
HellsBells answered Saturday January 22 2005, 8:25 pm: Your body often tells you you're hungry when infact you're only just thirsty. Try drinking water and if it still doesn't go away, carrot sticks and celery sticks with cottage cheese (is it called that in the states?) is great! :O) [ HellsBells's advice column | Ask HellsBells A Question ]
Sherry answered Saturday January 22 2005, 7:42 pm: A salad. Or maybe even a small meal. Doesnt have to be perfectly healthy but giving your body a little bit before dinner wont be that bad for you. It might even make you eat less dinner...try that. [ Sherry's advice column | Ask Sherry A Question ]
