Working out...

Question Posted Saturday January 22 2005, 7:26 pm

When you go to the gym, is it best to do say---15 minutes on the treadmill, 15 on the bike, and 15 on the elipitical, or is better to do 45 minutes straight on one of them. And how often should you switch up your routine? Should you do the treadmill 3 days a week, the bike 4? Or just treadmill all through the week? Some info here please!

Its better for your body to rotate exercise schedules so different parts of your body are being exercised such as one day exercise your arms and the next your legs and so on. Good luck on working out!

Well, when I go to the gym, I do 25 minutes on the treadmill, or bike, whichever I'm in the mood for, then I go work on the machines.
*Hope I helped!*

When i went to the gym.. the lady that worked there told me that you should lift weights every other day and then do cardio the days your no lifting. I say start off easy, 45 mins on one of those machines is a long time if your just starting to go to the gym. Work your way up..The Eliptical is known for burning more calories.. but its not the calories that really matter.. its the tone and definition. So I say left weight.. or if you don't want to do that, then walk on the treadmill at a very steady pace every other day and then on the days your not lifting or using the treadmill go on the eliptical or bike.. maybe starting at 15 minutes and then working it to 20 and so on. It also matters on the speed.. you don't want to overwork yourself because then it will become to hard to go on any machine and you will feel very sore.

Hope I helped :)

Goodluck at the gym.. I think its awesome that you want to be in good shape and that your doing something about it :) Instead of just thinking about doing something about it :)
