Hair is DRY!

Question Posted Wednesday January 19 2005, 12:59 pm

Lately my hair has been extremely dry. I don't know wether its that I straighten it everyday or that I wash my hair everyday. Are there any products that your suggest to make my hair not dry?

I know this might sound gross.. but just dont wash your hair for 2 days.. skip 2 days without just put it in a hair thingie then get in the shower. Your hair will be soo muc healthier. Make sure you use pantene to. Also straightning it can damage it-trix

don't wash your hair everyday and only straighten it about 1 a week because your hair can't take the heat of the iron well

try leave in conditioner. Or buy a really srtong conditioner and leave it in your hair for 30 minutes with a shower cap on. If that doesn't work, try to cut down on the straitening, it makes it worse
*hope i helped*

Use conditioner every time you shampoo. A good conditioner that is cheap is the european stuff called, "tresemme", in big black bottles. You can get it at walgreens. It is relatively cheap and good. The only difference between most conditioners is the amount of water in them. Some are thicker than others. The one I recommended is a good consistency and value. Be generous with the amount you put on your hair. After getting out and drying it take a dab of it in your hands and spread it through your dry hair. This should keep your locks healthy and soft. Give it a shot. That's my advice.

You washing it and straightening it is the problem. When you wash it everyday, you strip the hair of natural oils, so your hair is dried out. Maybe you should try some conditioner to fix that. Lo'real worked for me, and my hiar was really soft. You also shouldn't straighten your hair everyday, it really damges it and breaks it off, and can sometimes make it smell burnt *blech!* i don't know if there are any other alternatives, but I think you should try the conditioner first.

jbdreamer answered Wednesday January 19 2005, 1:33 pm:
Depending on where you live, I would say that it is the cold winter weather that is drying out your hair. Use a mositerising conditioner. A trick to a good deep conditioning (without the expensive products): after you put in conditioner, wrap your hair in a towel and let it sit for 10 minutes, then rinse. This should only be done occasionaly. Too much conditioner can weigh your hair down.

hollaren answered Wednesday January 19 2005, 1:29 pm:
it most likely is the straightening. go to the store and find vo5 (i think its called refinishing cream) if you cant find that then you need to look for the kits that you put the cream on your hair and let it sit there those are really good at rehydrating your hair and give the straighting a break
