ok so a tv show i saw a cook have chicken with chocolate sauce onthe plate, i thought would this be weird? How do u think this would taste? Would it be ok if i cooked it for my family one night? the other part of it is that it was a pile of chicken in the middle of the plate and the chocolate sauce was around it with roasted peppers on it, was the chocolate for the peppers or the chicken?
Thanx sooo much! MWAAAAHZ I rate high

sexyredhead answered Tuesday January 18 2005, 12:47 pm: well its not sweet chocolate, its bitter chocolate. so if youre going to make it, dont expect it to taste like hershey's or sumthin ur used to, cuz it wont. and yes the chocolate was for the chicken. the peppers were just a complimentary spice. Chicken with chocolate sauce is going to depend very much on what kind of seasoning was used. I can see some herbs and spices going quite well with chicken (such as those found in mole), but others would totally taste like ass (not litterally, of course, as that would be exceedingly disgusting).
Chocolate and peppers is quite good, as that is part of mole. Some mole is made with chocolate and poblano peppers. Many peppers get sweeter in flavor (while still retaining some kick) when you smoke or roast them. In fact, chipotle peppers are smoked jalepenos. Anyway...
Chocolate is pretty versatile despite most people thinking of it as simply a source of candy or ice cream topping. I'd say give the recipe a shot - I'm going to guess that you'll be pleasantly surprised.
BeFABULOUSxo answered Tuesday January 18 2005, 11:56 am: hm.. it could have been to give the peppers more of a flavor but thats just my opinion, maybe thats just the cook's opinion of creativity. Maybe he/she likes to add a random ingredient lol. Sure go ahead and make it for your family, but dont call it you own! tell them that you got the idea from TV xO ali [ BeFABULOUSxo's advice column | Ask BeFABULOUSxo A Question ]
jbdreamer answered Tuesday January 18 2005, 11:54 am: It could be good, a mixture of salty and sweet. But I would deffenitly try to find a recipe first before trying such an endeavor. I would think you would need a dark chocolate, or even an unsweetened chocolate. Something not too sweet. [ jbdreamer's advice column | Ask jbdreamer A Question ]
