Help!
Ok.. My friend wants to kill her self and when we were at a party she locked her self in a closet and tried to find something sharp to kill her self with and I am really scared for her!

Wow, I'm sorry this is happening to you. I have a few questions for you...
1) Why would she announce this at a party? Answer: ATTENTION
--Does she get any attention at home? If not, this is probably her attention "Trump Card"
2) Did you warn her you were going to tell someone? If so, what did she say? If she said something like: "No, no one needs to get involved," it is yet another cry for attention. She wants to be noticed, but doesn't want it getting back to her family.
3) Did you tell someone? If you didn't, you HAVE TO DO IT!!! I personally don't think she is serious, but if she is she needs help. If she isn't, having a nice long talk with the guidance counseler will wake her up to the fact that a suicide threat is a very serious thing, not to be taken lightly.

If she wants to do it,you really can't stop her. But you can tell her to see a doctor. Then you won't feel guilty when she ends it all.

Comfort your friend as much as possible. Tell her you love her and how hurt you would be if she died, and tell her how sad everyone would be. Tell her that life will get better and that you will always be there for her. Don't give up on her and be there for her whenever she needs you to talk. I'm sure this will help at least a little bit. update me if you need anymore help with this. :)

My friend has tried to kill herself a number of times and ended up in the hospital. Time is of the essence, trust me. If this person actually wants to kill themself they are unstable and need to be in therapy, or admitted to a hospital immidiatley. You have a responsibility to inform her parents of what she tried to do. You can not take ANY chances with this.

That is so inredibly extreme that you need to get her some help. Although it seems bad cause you are ratting her out but you need to tell someone about it. MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT TELL YOUR FRIEND THAT YOU ARE GUNNA TELL! That will make her commit suicide faster... she could even run away. Tell me how it works out!

I mean, how do you lock yourself in a closet? I've never heard of a closet with locks. Well, if you want the TEEN TALK number then let me know. I think it's 1-800- TEEN-TALK, but that's most likely wrong, so just let me know if you don't have the number and I'll get it for you. I e-mailed a teacher, told her my situation, didn't use any names. I just told her that I was one of her students and that a friend and another one of her students cut her wrists, I left some detail, asked her what I should do, and she e-mailed me back. I never signed my name at the end, and I never used any names... well not up until a while ago. I e-mailed her about a lot of crap in my life and it turned out she was a lot of help. Just seriously e-mail me with more elaborate information, or just more information then you gave, let me know about her life at home, and then I can really respond to you from personal experience. Ok, This is what you have to do....You have to tell someone, her parents or a teacher or someone who can help her and talk to her and see why she wants to kill herself be there for her and tell her your there for her and tell her that has to be a different way to handle whats going on then killing herself theres always another option, and I can see your a good friend because you are asking for advice on what you should do...ok, just be there for her and talk to her tell her to talk to someone about it who may can help her and just let her know that no matter what she has you and that you dont want her to do a stupid thing like killing herself, I hope this helps you out if you need anything esle then you can ask me, I know alot about everything!...-Nikki

Maybe you can give her a suicide hotline to call and like you know so she can talk to someone about it. Or get her into therapy...something like that. Tell her parents, whatever it takes to get her help!
