hey i am going to formal soon and i got a dress and its really long down to the floor and stuff but soo pretty. and so then i find out everyone is wearing like shorter drsses like to their shins but mien is past the floor so wat do i do? i dont wanna be over dressed but i love this dress... wat wud u do

if you really love the dress, wear it, and when you walk into the room where the formal is being held, act like you own the room! or at least that's what i would do. if you act like you own the place, people will see you as you're like totally cool and not afraid to be different and take risks. good luck & hope i helped!

do you feel the need to be like everyone else? I mean seriously, if you like the dress so much why not wear it? Oh yea, just so you can fit in? Have some backbone and stand out for a change. You'll probably get compliments on your dress and other people will be kicking themselves for not getting on just like it.

Who cares what everyone else is going to wear! Be yourself and wear what you want. Everyone wears different dresses to formals. If you think your dress is pretty then everyone else will think it's pretty. Hope I helped :)

you shouldnt care about what other people are wearing. try to stand out instead of blending in. you'll be different, therefore, more unique

Wear the long dress that you love. You'll feel more comfortable in something that's different but suits you then something you don't like so much but is similar to what other people are doing.
I wouldn't worry about being over-dressed. If it's a formal you won't be the only one in something long, and even the people in shorter things will be quite dressed up. It's also true that it's better to be over-dressed than under-dressed - you'd feel more uncomfortable if you went with a shorter dress and then found it wasn't fomal enough.

Why bother buying something different just to look like the others when you sound like you love this dress. I would wear it. Believe me, I felt out of place atmy school's Semi-Formal. I was like, the only one wearing pants. But I wore them anyways. Who knows, maybe everyone will love you dress and keep asking where you got it and everything. Go for it, girl! :D ~Ashy!~

wear it!!!! be yourself, you dont need to look like everyone! If anything i bet people will come and compliment you about how pretty it looks on you... stand out a bit if everyone is wearing short dresses and if it bothers you that much go and get it himmed.. just be who you wanna be and not think about what everyone else thinks ..... Actually you can wear it as it is or consider going to the seemstress and getting is cut a little lower. The seemstress might know how to make it a little shorter but still make the dress nice!

Why are you so concerned about everyone else? If you like the dress then wear it. Plus since your dress is long you'll stand out.

to tell you the truth i would wear it, i dont care one bit about what any thinks about me, but thats me. If you dont care like me than wear it but if you just have to fit in, yatta yatta yatta than save the dress for another occasion.
