my family dont think a can be a model becuase i had sugery
Hi my name is shannon bell and am 13 years old i had surgery on my back at12 and my family andn friinds say that i could never be a model with i scar in my back.I think that i can becuase i am fabulous.but when i seen americas next top model i new i would be good for runway but i did mot know if any modeling agency would won't me with a big scar on back.What should I do go on with dream or just forget.I need your help please.

follow your dream! you have really good confidencee which is important in the modeling industry! some of these other people here are saying your full of yourself but in 'americas next top mode' yaya and eva were both highly confident and they were the two finalists! you can totally be a model... you can go to a doctor and they can give you some special lotions and medicated stuff to make it fade... dont worry... if the scar still doesnt totally fade there are tons of modeling jobs that dont requier you to show your back... do what you wanna do... dont let a little flaw totally ruin your dreams! hope i helped!!!

you do know they have really advanced stuff now and if you are a fabulous as you say thewy can cover it up in no time and make it as if it isnt even there but in case that dont work wear stuff with backs.

You should go for it, doctors can help you get rid of the scar (*I saw it on The Swan) and if you were modeling something w.no back then you could probably put concealer over it. And a lot of things you would model mite not be bare-backed so it mite not even matter

you can always get rid of the scar go see a docter about it i had alot of scars and i got rid of them hoped i helped

just dont give up..go for it and see what happens..if your back is a problem ..then maybe try modeling face ,hand,feet, shots... u will do great...try hard good luck

If they had a real huge problem with it they would have you cover it up with a certain top. Or put something over it. There is stuff for vanishing scars to i heard-trix

of course you should still be a model. it wouldn't be fair to say no... however some agencies might but i doubt a lot would. if you have the right look then go for it! its good that your confident but u might want to tone it down a notch below "fabulous" ;) confidant + somewhat humble/sweet = great

I would go on with the dream. Its not like all the stuff you are going to wear is going to show your back. You should just keep trying and when you do have to wear stuff that shows your back, You could just cover it up with make-up.

NEVER FORGET!! never!! dont give up your heart's desire just because others say so!! I have joint problems which makes it KILL to run, but that doesn't stop me from being the ONLY girl on the guys football team, and kicking the other teams ass!! go out there and strut yo stuff!! hahaha!! you can make it!! You can use a scar remover like MEDERMA which I use on my numerous scars!!

always follow your dreams.. no matter what.. not all clothes are backless you know.. you will prob end up modeling gowns.. or formal wear.. or somehting.. however you would prob never do two peice swimwear etc.. but you never know.. they may end up designin a one peice coz of you..to hide the scar at the beach.. and youll become famous :P

Yes, you can still be a model! Why don't you buy a scar remover? I had a scar that was so noticable and big and I got a scar remover and it faded into my skin! Try using a concealer to hide the scar! Don't give up on your dream! Hope I helped :)
