Not knowing your age and financial situation makes giving strong advice difficult here, but I would recomend avoiding the normal dating sceen on the 14th. My past adventures in this relm have included a Hot Air Balloon ride (very, very cool) a valentine's scavanger hunt where one clue leads to the next (hell, if you can have the last clue BE the hot air balloon ride, you win! I did them in two seperate years)secluded woodland picknicks, reading to eachother near the fire place with hot tea and soft gingersnaps... If you and your boyfriend are mature enough and serious enough, then sharing a candle lit bubble bath, or a sensual massage with scented oils may be in order. Whatever you plan, consider all 5 sensory elements. Think about how you will excite and dazzle each. Good luck and most importantly, have fun. Guys are difficult to buy for. Maybe you should drop some hints to what he would like. I'm sure he'd like what ever you get him, though, because it's from you. [ cruvas's advice column | Ask cruvas A Question ]

JazzY answered Monday January 3 2005, 8:11 pm: You have about a month right? Well gather up some pictures of you and him (This is only if you have any), make a little scrapbook for him. Or make a poem about him or make it about all the reasons why you love him. Be creative and think! Why did you go out with him at first? Why do you care about him so much? What's his best feature? Hope I helped!

Karen answered Monday January 3 2005, 7:54 pm: It's so tough buying guys something, especially if it's a holiday just like Valentine's Day. Well you could make your boyfriend a scrap book filled with pictures of you and him together. I'm sure that there are a lot of pictures with you and him, since you've been going out with him more than a year! You could burn him a CD of his favorite songs, buy him a shirt, or you could even invite him over your house and just have dinner and then watch a movie and cuddle! Hope I helped :)

icy answered Monday January 3 2005, 7:28 pm: Boys are tough because they are always changing their minds about things. Why not talk to him about what kinds of movies, cds, videogames ect. that he likes or maybe make a date to go to the mall so he can point out some of his faves without you directly asking him what he wants. As you know, guys are really sensitive so if you ask him what he wants, he might take it that you don't know him well enough so make sure you find out as secretly as possible. And no gift cards either, because I think that goes along the lines of not knowing as well. Us girls have the BEST shopping skills so no worries hun, I know you'll pick out the BEST presents for your boyfriend. Oh, and congratulations on being with him for over a year!
