it is possible. my friends have athsma and are not ever allowed to be around ciggarette smoke. i hope i helped. ps. i would say you should tell a doctor or a parent about it. my friends say that after awhile they can't breathe when they're around smoke. don't let that happen to you.

I would definitely go and see a doctor - a month is quite a long time to have a cough - and especiallcy as you are asthmatic!!

Also if your sister smokes around you then you should ask her not too - second hand smoke has been proven to be harmful.

Tell your sister that if she wants to blacken her lungs and kill herself slowly then that's up to her - but you don't want to be brought down by her disgusting habit!!

Another thing you could try if it is a tickly cough and it's the middle of the night and you can't sleep for coughing is eating a big spoon of honey! Sound gross - tastes good and it if you swallo it as soon as the honey hits your tounge then it will slide down your throat and coat it and it dtops the tickly sensation!!!

Works wonders!!!
Good luck!

the smoke is really not helping the cough and might be making it worse... second hand smoke can sometimes be even worse then smoking itself. i hope you feel better soon if it keeps up i would see a doctor....

it could be lots of stuff! second hand smoke could be it.. but i don't think thats all that likely for being the main source of the problem..do u hang out with any friends or gf/bf that could be sick? ur allergies could also be kicking in..

i have asthma too, and i can't be around anyone when there smoking. but i also know i've had a cough for a month, and its a really bad cough too. but for me a cough like this is normal during the winter time. so for mine i usually use my inhaler when it gets really bad. but if your dont normally have a cough w/ your asthma, you might wanna go to an asthma/allergy doctor and get checked out.
hope i helped.

It could be from second hand smoke. You shouldnt be around your sister when she smokes at all if you have asthma or anyone who does smoke.

It's probably from being around the smoke too much and getting into you.

The smoke can be causing the coughs, so there isn't much you can do if you can't stop your sister from smoking... However, the coughs might not be the only reason that you're coughing... Go to the doctor if you're worried...
